🎭 Big changes are coming to the The Alban Arena 🎭

We’re excited to announce a major £277,000 refurbishment project that will transform the seating at the Alban Arena – bringing greater comfort, better accessibility, and more capacity for our amazing audiences! 🙌✨

This exciting two-phase project, delivered by Everyone Active in partnership with St Albans City and District Council, kicks off this September with the replacement of the circle seating – carefully timed to minimise disruption. The stalls will then be upgraded in summer 2026, with improved wheelchair spaces and stylish new LED aisle lighting 💺💡

✅ Capacity increase from 850 to 902
✅ Eco-conscious upgrades
✅ Refurbished toilets and backstage improvements for performers

🎤 With over 250 shows a year – including upcoming performances by Jason Manford (July 30), The Wizard of Oz (Aug 9–10), and Susie Dent (Nov 5) – the Alban Arena is set to offer an even better experience for everyone.

Harry Aikines-Aryeetey opens the newly refurbished facilities at Northcroft Leisure Centre & Lido👇

The centre has experienced a major transformation as a result of a £4.6million investment from West Berkshire Council.

This exciting refurbishment has seen Northcroft Leisure Centre evolve into a state-of-the-art facility, ensuring it remains a fantastic hub for the community for many years to come.

🎾 Wimbledon fever is in full swing – and we’ve been serving up something special in Sunderland!

Last week, we welcomed over 40 schoolchildren with hearing or sight impairments to our Sensory Tennis Fun Day at Silksworth Community Pool, Tennis & Wellness Centre 💚

In partnership with the city’s educational sensory team and as part of the LTA’s Open Court programme, these sessions show that tennis truly is for everyone.
