Last month, mOm Incubators joined global actors from across the humanitarian sector for Humanitarian Networks and Partnerships Weeks - HNPW 2026

We were proud to have Cassi Henderson, Humanitarian Partnerships Lead at mOm, speak on the panel “Scaling Health Innovations in Emergencies”, which explored the role of partnerships in supporting and scaling innovations with a particular focus on maternal and newborn health.

Reducing neonatal unit admissions and preventing early family separation is a critical challenge in newborn care.
We’re pleased to share that the article “Use of A Novel Infant Warming Device (mOm Essential) Reduces Neonatal Unit Admission and Family Separation” is now live.

The study explores how our mOm Essential infant warming device supports effective thermal care immediately after birth, contributing to reduced neonatal unit admissions and improved opportunities for early family bonding.

These findings underline the importance of innovation that delivers both clinical impact and family-centred outcomes in neonatal care.

We’re proud to share a major milestone for mOm Incubators

mOm Incubators has received FDA 510k clearance for the mOm Essential Incubator: a first-of-its-kind portable incubator designed to provide safe thermoregulation for premature babies while keeping mother and baby together.

With approximately 400,000 premature births each year in the US, access to immediate neonatal care remains uneven - particularly in rural and semi-urban settings. The mOm Essential is designed to help close this gap by enabling effective neonatal care anywhere and everywhere, while reducing unnecessary NICU admissions and avoiding the trauma of separation.

Already in use across hospitals in the UK where it has helped reduce hypothermia-related NICU admissions to zero in some settings, FDA 510k clearance marks a significant step toward expanding access to this life-saving innovation in the United States.

We are proud to be featured in thetimes following our successful NHS trials earlier this year.

Our device weighs a fraction in comparison to existing models, making us highly mobile and perfect for use on maternity wards. The trial, across five NHS trusts, was able to help premature babies stay with their mothers with projected savings of over £65,000 per year, reduced NICU occupancy and shorter hospital stays.

Designed to be simple, mobile and easy to use, we have already supported over 100 babies in NHS trials and are now used in the UK and internationally, including in Ukraine, where its portability has been critical in emergency care settings.

mOm at jENS 2025 💡

We’re excited to be attending jENS this Thursday and Friday to support the incredible team at Hospital, whose data has been accepted as an abstract.

They’ll be presenting how the mOm System led to a significant reduction in hypothermia and respiratory admissions to NICU — saving Liverpool Women’s Hospital valuable resources while keeping newborn babies closer to their parents and promoting bonding.

We’re proud to work alongside Liverpool Women’s and other NHS Trusts across the UK to reduce costs and enhance the patient experience.

Looking forward to seeing the Liverpool Women’s team present their impressive findings at Europe’s largest paediatric event!
