ome is located in Church Street, Arnold, which is four miles north of Nottingham. Arnold offers a wide range of facilities which include a pedestrianised shopping centre, a library, and several other shops, newsagents etc. A bus stop stands directly outside the main gate; this offers regular services to Nottingham city centre. The church from which the road takes its name is also close by. The home stands on the site of the Old Manor House which was demolished at the beginning of the twentieth century. The present Manor House was originally built in 1928 by Mr T Nix. During its construction he purchased the distinctive stained glass window from the Nottingham Exchange. The window bears the Old Nottingham Coat of Arms and is still a most interesting and unique feature of this lovely building. The property was re-developed with a large purpose built extension in 1996. Further extensions were added in 2000 and 2015. The home is set in large gardens edged by trees. Took a little trip out to Arnold today, and it turned into something much more than just a walk around town.

Every street seemed to hold a memory—old hangouts, familiar corners, places that once felt like the centre of everything. It’s funny how much can change, yet somehow still feel the same. We found ourselves thinking about all the faces that used to fill those spaces, the laughter, the conversations, the moments that felt so ordinary at the time but mean so much now.

There’s a quiet kind of comfort in revisiting those places. Not everything is still there, and not everyone is still around, but the memories have a way of staying with you.

Today was a gentle reminder of where We've been, who we’ve shared those times with, and how those moments shape who We are now.

Sometimes, it’s nice to just pause and remember.💜

There’s something quietly beautiful about a table full of flowers and friendly faces 🌸
At the care home, we spent the time arranging flowers together and a bit of greenery, and a lot of laughter. It wasn’t just about making something pretty (though the arrangements turned out lovely). It was about the conversations that unfolded, the stories shared, and the simple joy of creating side by side.

Each bouquet felt a little different, just like each person—some bright and bold, others soft and delicate. Watching everyone take pride in their work, helping one another, and reminiscing about gardens from years gone by made the experience even more special.

Moments like these remind me how meaningful small, creative activities can be. A few flowers, a bit of time, and good company can turn an ordinary day into something truly uplifting 💐💜

Music has a beautiful way of bringing people together 🎶

Here in our care home, it’s more than just something to listen to—it’s something we share. From singing along to familiar tunes, to gentle dances and tapping feet, music fills our home with warmth, laughter, and connection.

It sparks memories of love stories, lifelong friendships, and special moments gone by. Residents often reminisce about songs that remind them of partners, first dances, or times spent with dear friends. Today we had the honour of watching a special couple dance together, These moments create opportunities to bond, share stories, and build new friendships within our home 💜

Whether it’s a group singalong or simply enjoying a favourite melody together, music helps create a sense of belonging and joy that everyone can feel.

Because sometimes, a song says what words cannot 💜

🐣🌸 Easter at our care home 🌸🐣

Easter is always a special time here, bringing a real sense of joy, reflection, and togetherness to our home. Today, our residents have been sharing stories of Easters gone by, enjoying some delicious treats, and taking part in a few light-hearted activities.

There’s something quietly magical about Mornings in a care home when the kettle’s on, the cake is sliced, and good company gathers. ☕🍰

Our book club has become more than just a chance to read—it’s a doorway into memories, laughter, and shared stories. Whether it’s a well-loved classic or something new, each page sparks conversation, connection, and a sense of belonging.

And then there’s the music… 🎶
A familiar song can do what words sometimes can’t—bringing comfort, lifting spirits, and even unlocking moments long tucked away. From gentle singalongs to simply listening together, music therapy creates a space where everyone can feel something meaningful.

Pair all of that with a warm cuppa and a slice of cake, and you’ve got more than an activity—you’ve got a moment of joy, togetherness, and care.

Because in the little things—a story shared, a song remembered, a cup held warmly in hand—there’s real wellbeing. 💜

This morning in our care home was filled with music, memories, and plenty of smiles 🎶💜

We started the day with the timeless hits of Elvis Presley playing through the lounge — and before long, toes were tapping, hands were clapping, and a few of our residents were even up dancing! From “Jailhouse Rock” to “Can’t Help Falling in Love,” the room came alive with energy and nostalgia.

Music has such a special way of bringing people together, and today was a perfect example of that. Some residents shared their memories of seeing Elvis on TV, while others sang along word for word — every lyric still fresh in their hearts.

To keep the fun going, we followed it up with an Elvis quiz! There was lots of laughter (and a little friendly competition!) as everyone tested their knowledge — from his famous songs to fun facts about his life. We even discovered a few “Elvis experts” among us 👑

It was a wonderful morning full of joy, movement, and connection. Moments like these remind us just how powerful music can be 💫

This morning was truly heart warming at our care home💜
We were delighted to welcome a group of children who came to visit from our local community, making the morning even more special, we are also pleased to welcome back Nelly the dog she visits us regularly, Nelly brought plenty of tail wags, cuddles, and smiles to our residents.
It was truly heart warming to see the joy on everyone’s faces as residents spent time with Nelly, gently stroking her and enjoying her presence, while chatting and laughing with the children.
The combination of pet therapy and visits from young people create such a positive atmosphere, helping to boost wellbeing, spark conversations, and bring so much happiness to our home. It was beautiful to see different generations connecting so naturally, creating moments that will be cherished by everyone involved.
Thank you to everyone who joined us and made the morning so memorable 🐾✨

Life in our care home is full of excitement… and a serious level of bingo competition 🎉

Eyes down, dabbers ready—things got intense here this morning especially when there’s a full house on the line (we’ve seen friendships tested… only joking… mostly 😄).

When we’re not battling it out over bingo, we’re busy being pampered with fabulous nail sessions—because who says you can’t look glamorous while winning at life?

But in between the laughs, the games, and the sparkle, it’s the time we spend together that really matters. Plenty of chats, shared stories, and moments that turn into memories 💛

Safe to say… there’s never a dull moment here!

It’s these simple joys and connections that make this place feel like home ✨
