Hello Team,
Let’s talk posture.
It’s easy to ignore — especially when you’re busy at a desk, behind the wheel, or even relaxing at home. But poor posture isn’t just a cosmetic issue or a mild annoyance. Over time, it can become a debilitating driver of chronic pain and significantly impact your long-term health.
We see it in clinic all the time:
Chronic neck pain
Rotator cuff injuries and shoulder impingements
Frequent headaches and tension across the upper neck and skull
Persistent mid-back stiffness or burning
Repetitive strain injuries (RSIs) affecting the wrists, elbows, and shoulders
Reduced energy, mood changes — even respiratory restriction
And it’s not just us noticing this. The media is catching on too. A few years ago, the BBC and UK press featured a story about “Emma” — a life-size model representing the potential effects of poor desk posture over a career. It’s a striking (and sobering) image of what years of neglect can do.

But it’s more serious than just pain…
Studies show that poor posture can even reduce life expectancy.
Research published in the Journal of the American Geriatrics Society found that exaggerated forward posture in older adults was associated with a 1.44x increased risk of mortality. Posture isn’t just about comfort — it’s a vital sign of your overall health.
PS: If you’d like to learn more about how to fix poor posture, I’m running a free health class on:
🗓 Monday, 28th July at 7:30pm
📍 At the clinic (space is very limited!)
💬 We’ll be covering how posture affects your nervous system, pain, and overall well-being — plus practical steps you can take immediately.
Please RSVP by replying to this post or contacting one of our team directly.
Last time we hosted a posture class, the room was packed. So if you’re keen to join (or bring a guest!), let us know as soon as possible.
See you there!
Warm regards,
