Friends & Bredrins Prostate Cancer Support Group are a Nottingham-based organisation that raise awareness of prostate cancer and support predominantly (but not exclusively) African heritage men and their families affected by it.

🩵 LOOK OUT FOR OUR CHAMPIONS! 🩵

Prostate cancer is now the most common cancer in men in the UK, and many are still unaware of the risks—especially in Black communities and among men over 50.

That’s why we’re proud to support the Orchid - Fighting Male Cancer Orchid - Fighting Male Cancer! 💙 We are trained volunteers working across the country—including in Nottingham—to raise awareness, break down taboos, and help men spot the signs early.

🧠 Did you know?

* 1 in 8 men will get prostate cancer
* For Black men, it’s 1 in 4
* Most men have no symptoms at all in the early stages
* A simple PSA blood test could save your life

💬 If you’ve seen our Champions in your community, stop and say hello! They’re here to talk, to listen, and to help you or a loved one take the first step toward better health.

📍Find us at events like the Sherwood and Bestwood PCN Health Hub, community centres, GP surgeries, and local pop-ups. Ask about prostate health, check your risk, and get informed.

Next year we hope to be there. Great event!!!!

Not long to go now till this year's Twyford Beer Festival - two days (and one warm-up evening) of tasty tipples, marvellous music and family fun on Stanlake Meadow, and all in support of Orchid - Fighting Male Cancer

It kicks off on Thurs 5 June at 6pm with Blondie-alikes Atomic Rapture, then Friday and Saturday sessions begin from midday.
