Foot and lower leg weakness is often where balance problems and plantar fasciitis begin.

This exercise helps your foot, ankle and calf work together to control movement properly… which is what keeps you steady when your balance shifts.

Are these exercises safe if you’ve got arthritis?

It’s a common question that I get asked and the honest answer is ...

Not all exercises suit everyone.

Arthritis isn’t the same for every person or every joint… so what feels good for one person might aggravate someone else.

The exercises I share are designed to be gentle and to help support your joints, improve movement, and build strength around them… and many people with arthritis do find them helpful.

The key is this…

Start slow, stay within a comfortable range and pay attention to how your body responds.

If something feels sharp, pinchy, or makes things worse… stop and adjust.

Very importantly ...

Be cautious of anyone online who tells you that exercises are safe for you and your arthritis without knowing your situation.

The right exercises can help a lot… but they should always feel right for your body.

Did you know there’s a small arch running across the ball of your foot that’s essential for balance… and when its not working, your body loses one of its quickest ways to stay balanced

This simple exercise helps wake it up and strengthen it, so your feet can do their job properly again.

Struggling with SI joint pain?

Last month I shared an exercise to help relieve SI joint pain. If your lower back or has been causing you discomfort take a look at yesterday’s video…

Stronger hips make everything feel easier… walking, standing and keeping your balance.

I’m adding a new full hip and glute strength routine into the Subscribers’ Hub later today… with simple but effective exercises that will improve balance, stability and overall body strength from the ground up.

It’s a follow-along session, so you can take your time and really feel the right muscles working… especially if your hips tend to “switch off” and let everything else take over.

If you’d like to join, you’ll find the Subscribers Hub tab on my profile page… or I’ll pop the link in the first comment.

If your glutes aren’t switching on… no amount of strength will fix this.

If getting up from a chair or climbing stairs feels harder than it should, this is often why.

This small, controlled movement helps your glutes kick in at the right time so they can actually support you, instead of everything else trying to take over. It’s not just about strength… it’s about using it when you need it.

Does walking feel stiff… or your hips not feeling stable?

It’s not always about stretching more.

Try this simple movement to switch your glutes on… you’ll feel it working almost straight away.

Stronger hips, better control, and movement that feels smoother and more stable.

Weak glutes can make your hips, knees and even your back work harder than they should…

A couple of months ago I posted a tiny move that helps switch your glutes on properly… and it took off because people could actually feel the difference straight away.

Lower back ache during this exercise?
The exercise isn’t the problem.

This happens because your abdominals and glutes aren’t doing their job to stabilise your pelvis and support your lumbar spine. When that coordination isn’t there, the lower back muscles jump into overdrive to try and protect the spine and you experience this as back pain

Watch the video to see why this happens and how to fix it.

If core exercises haven’t been helping… try this seated fascia exercise

It creates cross-tension through the fascia around your midsection so the core muscles have to stabilise properly. You’ll also feel a stretch through the hips, chest and shoulders.
