Could you volunteer a couple of hours a month to support Talk Club in Arnold?

What's a "Captain"?

Well, a Talk Club Captain, is the man who runs a Talk Club. Captains are the lifeblood of the community, and as Talk Club grows, we need more.
So, are you male and over 18? Would you like to help other men, while looking after yourself? You'1l be trained and supported. You' ll be appreciated and included. It's a voluntary role, but you will benefit from being in a safe, positive community, where you can be yourself.
So, if you'd like to be part of the solution, get in touch. I can tell you a bit about our established group and connect you with Talk Club HQ for training and support.

💬 Let’s chat!

What helps you feel more connected?

☕ A coffee and conversation
🚶 A walk outdoors
🎨 Getting creative
📚 A quiet group or shared interest

You could even share your experience within a community space that you would recommend to help people feel more connected in the community!

Tell us in the comments 👇 or if you would like some support to be connected to the community, you can make a self-referral to the Social Prescribing Service by contacting your GP surgery.

You’re not alone – we’re here to help 💛

🌿 Stress Awareness Month – Be The Change 🌿

This years theme, , encourages each of us to take simple, consistent actions that support our wellbeing because little changes really can make a big difference over time.

Stress Awareness Month has been running since 1992 and remains a powerful reminder to talk openly about stress, reduce stigma, and support one another.

What does Be The Change mean?
The 2026 theme empowers us to move from simply being aware of stress to actively making changes for ourselves and for the people around us. It’s about:
- Building small healthy habits
- Checking in on yourself and others
- Talking openly about stress
- Making everyday choices that boost wellbeing

💡 Simple Tips to Reduce Stress
Here are some small things that may help lighten the load:
- Talk to someone you trust sharing how you feel can be the first step.
- Try breathing exercises, like slow deep breaths to calm the body.
- Set small, achievable goals instead of trying to do everything at once.
- Move your body in a way you enjoy: walking, stretching, dancing.
- Plan ahead for busy or overwhelming days.
- Practice kindness to yourself and others. Even small moments of compassion can help reduce stress.
