World Sight Day, observed annually on the second Thursday of October, is a global event meant to draw attention to blindness and vision impairment.

World Sight Day serves as a powerful reminder that our eyes deserve priority, not neglect. Vision is something most of us take for granted, until it begins to fade. Yet here’s a hopeful truth, according to IAPB Vision Atlas, up to 90% of sight loss is preventable or treatable with the right care, awareness and timely action.

World Sight Day 2025, is more than just a date on the calendar. It’s a global call to pause, reflect and take proactive steps toward safeguarding our vision. This year’s theme is ‘Love Your Eyes’, and it’s a reminder to put eye health at the forefront of our personal and collective well-being.

That message is still at the heart of who we are - promoting kindness, inclusivity, and celebrating the contributions of every colleague across our hospitals and communities.

We stand together. Our strength is in our diversity. And we’ll keep repeating it - today and every day.
