- Your local pharmacy can offer advice and treatment for many winter illnesses
- Your GP can support ongoing or worsening symptoms
- Urgent Treatment Centres can help with injuries or illnesses that aren’t life-threatening
- Only attend A&E for serious or life-threatening emergencies

Please bare with the surgery and our staff tomorrow, as the weather may effect the service you receive. There may be some changes to apppointments so please be mindful as our staff try to navigate through this the best that they can.

More information about *RAPID HEALTH*

The practice will be trialling a new way in which patients can access our services. Rapid Health is an online facility that allows patients to book appointments, without needing to phone the practice.

Patients will be presented with a series of questions about their problem. From here, patients will be provided with a choice of appointments with the most appropriate clinician(s), in the most appropriate timeframe, based on their clinical need.
This should result in shorter waiting times, especially for more urgent medical issues, and focusses on “getting it right first time” seeing the most appropriate member of the team for your medical issue. It will also prevent the 8am rush and long waits on the telephones.

The new platform also allows patients to raise admin requests (such as sick/fit notes, doctors letters, and more) and find trusted self-care information for a wide range of symptoms and health conditions. This will replace our current platform.

For those who are able to do so, we will ask from tomorrow, all contacts with the surgery come through Rapid Health, which will be accessed via our practice website.
If you are unable to use the website, please phone the surgery. Our administration team will be required to take details of your medical issue/concern.


Please be patient with the practice during this transition, it is not only new for patients but also new for staff. Staff are learning a brand-new appointment system so please remember to be kind when speaking to our receptionist as they are here to help you.

A positive change is coming to our practice.

We are launching Rapid Health – a new and quicker way to book appointments and send requests to the practice. We plan to start using it from tomorrow. For most people, it will be the fastest way to get an appointment.

Rapid Health will help us respond faster, make sure we see people with the greatest need first, and free up our GPs to spend more time caring for patients and less on admin. It’s designed mainly for new health problems, though you can also use it for simple admin requests like a sick/fit note.

Using it is simple. You’ll fill in an online form, that takes about three and a half minutes to complete. (For those without online access, our phone lines will be available as normal.) Based on your answers, Rapid Health will guide you to the right appointment.

Note that Rapid Health is a proven, NHS-assured system that keeps your information secure.

What do I need to do now? Please check that we have the right email address on your medical record. You’ll need this to use the system.
