✨FAQ - Meningitis✨
We have been having several questions about meningitis outbreak. If you are a University of Kent student or have been in touch with a person who may be infective, please see your GP, who are able to offer approved prophylaxis.
If you have questions regarding your vaccination status, please see your GP as they hold your vaccination record and can give you advice as to what vaccinations you might be due.
Should you come down with acute symptoms of meningitis call 999:
a rash that doesn’t fade when pressed with a glass, sudden onset of high fever, severe and worsening headache, stiff neck, vomiting and diarrhoea, joint and muscle pain, dislike of bright lights, very cold hands and feet, seizures, confusion/delirium, extreme sleepiness/difficulty waking. For non severe symptoms call NHS 111 and they can advise accordingly.
