At last a coupe of pairs of feet to really get my teeth into ( metaphorically speaking) although the odd clipping does some how end up down my top and in my hair, I do try not to get any of them in my mouth. Even for me that is taking it too far.

Pictured below some lovely long nails transformed and a corker of a Callus on the apex of a big toe. The smiles at the end worth priceless.

The one of the little toe or as we say 5th digit was particularly transformative. The patient described it herself as a budgies claw.

I did a 12 hour day in the clinic yesterday and on the road today doing home visits. Only two patients left for today and boy am I going to sleep tonight .

May website has loads of discounts, some of them are for life.

Opening the clinic doors on Mondays from June and will have promotions for new patients.

Another miracle ( so that’s what the patient thought)
I had such a lovely time I stayed 30 minutes over my time as we had such a good natter and so many thin tin common.
Sometimes you meet people that just get you and you get them.

Seeing is believing in this cheeky mid week fungal toenail.
I thinned the thickness down from 1cm to 2-3mm. It was super hard, dry and too long to be able to wear shoes.
Only before and after pictures can help me appreciate my own work.
The patient is elderly and had reg-less legs syndrome and it was challenging trying cut their nails.
Along with fungal nail there was a raging case of Athletes Foot too.

Full nail removal for a diabetic patient.
3rd toe, right foot.
Nail presented as black/grey and looked like it had been bleeding.
Removing the nail was easy at was only holding on by the cuticle and a bit of hard skin.
The second picture is after removal, revealing a healthy nail bed underneath.
I went back today two wks later for a free follow up and was please to see ( 3rd picture) that new nail had already started to form.
They have clearly been doing their homework in keeping it clean and dry.

Just got back from 12 hour day in the clinic. I saw some regular patients, some new and an old friend.

It was a popular day for HPV1 ( verrucae) as I identified two. One was a singular one and another spread over an area of 3cmx2cm and referred to as a Mosaic. Both had an easily identifiable cauliflower appearance and look glorious under magnification.
Lots of Tinea Pedis ( athletes foot), fungal nail and a very satisfying thick hard cracked heels ( before and after pictures below)
I’m just going to sit down to part two of my take away from last night.
I can’t believe I get paid to do this job, honestly who knew a job could be so satisfying?

Just finally getting to my tea ( Indian takeaway) then to bed as in the clinic ALL DAY tomorrow.

I have patients back to back from 8am. All but two are my regular visitors.

I get a thrill from seeing patients in the clinic as I can use my light with magnification and see everything up close.

I’m see a young person for a quick consultation before they book in for treatment as I just couldn’t tell from the photos what I was really looking at.

I have a day of home visits today. Two new patients and three patients from the same family that I’ve been seeing for sometime.
Home visits allow me get out and about and is the only opportunity I have to get some sun.
When going into people’s homes you never know what you’re walking into.
My patients are always glad to see me, which lovely. I often get offered cups of tea, but never have time to drink them. I’m often greeted by very excitable dogs, sadly I can’t say hello or I will inevitably end up covered in dog hairs, which isn’t great for business.
Occasionally I meet patients that break my heart too. They can be lonely, have no family or friends that visit. They are struggling to keep on top of housework and self care isn’t a concept they understand or have the strength to do anything about.
It’s a hard balancing act sometimes deciding to stay and do the treatment or leaving without doing the treatment because the environment is not safe for me to work in. These are the cases that stay with me for along time. I love my job and am privileged to meet so many wonderful people.
Occasionally I’m the life line they have been waiting for and they don’t even know it.

These nails were long thick and hard. A work in progress but an impressive start.
