❌ Myth 1: “Weight gain in perimenopause is inevitable — just accept it.”
✅ Truth: Hormones shift, yes but with the right support, nutrition, and strategy, you CAN lose weight, boost your energy, and feel strong again. It’s not about fighting your body- it’s about working with it.

❌ Myth 2: “Just eat less and exercise more.”
✅ Truth: Nope. In perimenopause, that mindset can actually backfire. Over-exercising and under-eating can spike cortisol, mess with your blood sugar, and stall progress. It's about supporting your hormones first, then your body responds.

❌ Myth 3: “Fatigue is normal. You just have to push through it.”
✅ Truth: Constant exhaustion is your body waving a red flag. It’s often tied to blood sugar imbalances, cortisol spikes, and hormone fluctuations and you deserve support, not to just “power through.”

My mum was an older mum, she had me at 43, so as far back as I can remember, she was on medication for her heart.
One prescription turned into another, and soon she was taking extra tablets just to manage the side effects of the first.

This drives me to prioritise my own metabolic health and do things differently now that I have the knowledge and expertise.

Here’s what I do:

✅ Fill my plate with real, nourishing foods like fresh herbs (thyme, rosemary), colourful veggies, like beetroot, radishes, liver, walnuts, and oily fish and nuts
✅ Move my body every day- walking, running up stairs, yoga, pilates, resistance training
✅ Keep my blood sugar steady with the right meals at the right time
✅ 8 hours of quality sleep is a non-negotiable- lights out by 10pm
✅ Use daily mindset and stress tools

My mum was most likely in perimenopuase when she had me, and thats where metoblic health can go the wrong way.

Belly fat isn't your fault, it's another symptom of metoblic health dysfunction.

Are you frustrated by weight gain around your middle, despite eating well and staying active?

Let’s talk about something most weight loss plans ignore. Your microbiome!

Your gut and mouth are home to trillions of bacteria collectively called the microbiome that play a massive role in your metabolism, immune system, and even your hormones.

Did you know that up to 80% of your immune system is influenced by your microbiome?

As we enter perimenopause, the drop in oestrogen doesn’t just affect our mood and periods; it also changes the balance of bacteria in our gut and mouth. re cravings, more stubborn belly fat, and a rollercoaster of hormones and energy levels.

But here’s the good news! You have the power to support your microbiome every single day.

Fill your plate with fibre-rich veggies such as pomegranates, red onions, leeks, camomile teas, and mushrooms; these feed your good bacteria.

Add fermented foods (if you can tolerate it!) like yoghurt, kefir, and sauerkraut for a probiotic boost.

Limit ultra-processed foods and sugars, which will feed the “bad bacteria".
