There have been some great activities recently across our homes☀️

At Dovecote, residents celebrated St George’s Day with creative flag-making 🎨 and a fun face painting session 😊 lots of smiles all round.

Over at Chilwell House, residents enjoyed a sunny walk around Victoria Park 🌿 followed by an energetic exercise class 💪.

This World Health Day, residents across our services came together to focus on health and wellbeing 🌍💙

At Chilwell House, residents completed informative worksheets to encourage awareness and meaningful conversations around wellbeing.

At Dovecote, residents took part in engaging activities exploring the importance of both physical and mental health, alongside discussions on the value of regular health checks and proactive care ✨

🪺🌼🐣 Easter Celebrations Across Our Homes 💛🐰🌷

✨ Jubilee House
Staff held a wonderful Easter raffle and raised £67 towards a new defibrillator - bringing their total to £350 so far. A huge well done to everyone involved!

✨ Chilwell House
Residents got creative by making their own Easter chocolates and chocolate nests, while Jax proudly baked homemade hot cross buns to share with others. The celebrations continued with an Easter afternoon tea followed by a delicious Easter buffet.

✨ Dovecote
Residents enjoyed a range of fun Easter activities, including an engaging Easter quiz and themed activity sheets. To finish the day, homemade hot cross buns were baked by Jeanette, filling the home with amazing aromas.

✨ Goldhill House
Residents enjoyed a seasonal activity designed to support wellbeing and social engagement- a scenic Easter-themed canal boat ride at Tapton Lock. With hot drinks and Easter treats on board, it made for a warm and relaxing outing. They also enjoyed decorating sweet Easter treats back at the home.

At Chilwell House, we marked World Bipolar Day with creative colouring, word searches, and supportive group discussions 💬

A fun true-or-false game about celebrities with bipolar added some extra engagement. Some residents also chose to share personal experiences, helping foster empathy and connection 🤝

👩‍🍳 At Jubilee House, residents have been baking delicious cakes to help raise money for a new defibrillator, and they look amazing!

🚗 At Goldhill House, George loved his trip to the classic car show, while other residents took part in a meaningful self-esteem and empowerment group activity.

🍀Our residents at Dovecote had a fantastic time celebrating St Patrick’s Day🍀

They worked together to create a vibrant green fruit platter, encouraging teamwork and creativity, and enjoyed decorating festive cupcakes with their own unique touches.

The day was topped off with a refreshing iced vanilla matcha, which went down a treat.

A few highlights from this week 👇

Residents at Goldhill enjoyed visiting some furry animals🐾 Paige, our Activity Engagement Coordinator, also led a session discussing financial and relationship scenarios, encouraging residents to share experiences and explore healthy coping strategies for navigating life’s barriers.

At Chilwell House, residents baked brownies and celebrated Jax’s birthday 🎉 They also created a takeaway-style Costa coffee experience with cakes, biscuits, hot chocolate with cream, tea and coffee ☕

John’s journey with us has been one of real progress. After arriving at Goldhill House, he worked hard with the staff to build his confidence and independence before successfully stepping down to Jubilee House.

Thanks to the support and dedication of the team at Jubilee House, John has now reached his end goal of living in the community again after 30+ years.

A great afternoon of Gardening Club at Goldhill House 🌱

Residents got stuck in helping to tidy the garden and get it ready for spring. It was lovely to see everyone enjoying the fresh air and working together outside.

We’re looking forward to seeing everything start to grow over the next few weeks. 🌷

At Chilwell House, our residents came together for a baking group, preparing a delicious cake for dessert. 🍰

Jax led the session with great initiative, guiding the group and encouraging teamwork throughout. Everyone engaged, enjoyed the activity and supported one another in such a positive atmosphere. 👏
