Do Pilates at seated for instant relief ✨No mat required

Ever find that if you have tension in your back, and you stretch your back, it doesn’t budge ?

The muscles in the back can become weak and overworked so stretching them probably won’t give you that relief.

Instead, try some spinal mobility and chest openers.

It’s the muscles around the spine and chest that can get tight and make those muscles in the back work even harder which causes that overall tight feeling.

Breathe through the movements and release tension as you exhale.

Do you find it easier to hold onto tension and make it an everyday normal ?

Fight or flight is a stress response to danger.

High levels of adrenaline and cortisol hormones are released to prepare ourselves for a sudden threat.

We can feel tense, on edge, short of breath, hot or have butterflies.

These symptoms get us ready to protect ourselves but when this happens often or at times when we are not under threat, then it can have a negative impact on our wellbeing.

If you notice these feelings, try acknowledging them and letting go.

I know this is hard, but becoming aware is a BIG step to overcoming this heightened stress response.

See if you can take a breath, and as you exhale, release & let go.

Can you try releasing physical tension by dropping your shoulders and unclenching your jaw?

Try tuning into your senses to practise being more present and see if the feelings reduce.

Meditation can really help to ground us and bring clarity.

This peaceful evening offers a chance to pause before the rush begins — to reconnect with your body, calm your mind, and ease gently into the new season.

* Calming breath work to soothe the nervous system and ease mental tension
