As the nights draw in, it gets dark and gloomy, it makes us want to stay inside and be in the warm. Forget the fact that it’s dark already….. the clocks haven’t even gone back yet 🤪
For years I suffered from SAD, Seasonal Affective Disorder. I would get so terribly down in the autumn and winter. So very low and depressed, never mind adding to the stresses of Christmas. I always had enough 😭
A few things supported me as I no longer suffer from SAD, and haven’t done for around 8 years.
MD 🍄 supported this, setting an intention to support me through these feelings. I started appreciating the cycles of life, the seasons of Mother Earth, that nature has time to sleep. It’s a time for us to go in for us too.
Move your body - you don’t have to go the gym or go to classes. You can stay at home and get a morning shake on, do a few yoga stretches on a mat. Feel into your body
Take some quiet time for you- meditate, sit, breathwork, just be with yourself. Winter is perfect time to do some inner work. Exploring yourself, your mind and soul.
Get a dog or dogs 😂🐕🐶 dogs need walking twice a day, even once a day. This gets you out the house and fresh air on my face! Blow them cobwebs away - and a bit of exercise in 🙌🏼 Don’t you love how they waiting for us 😆😆
Be grateful for the little things in life, the glimpse of sunshine, an acorn falling on your head, love and good times. 🙏🏼
Make sure you have some fun! 🤩 Life is boring AF if you don’t have a giggle! Even when it’s gloomy 😝
