This week we have been sharing with you a little bit more about our services. We are Ashby House & The Lodge and our amazing team of health care assistants and nurses work across both services striving for the best possible outcomes for the people they support. Our main focus is health. (Prevention of ill health, managing long term health conditions and supporting with deteriorating health) but we still aim to make sure that everyone that comes to our services feels comfortable, safe and secure and most importantly get the chance to have a great time without having to worry about their health and hopefully this gives our parents and carers peace of mind to ❤️

Today we are talking about The Lodge again. A typical day at the lodge could like this.
09.30: Arrival, get settled & have a drink.
10:00: Have physical health checks taken (once a week).
10:30: be supported to complete physio exercises.
11.15: 1:1 interactive sensory session.
12.15: get ready for lunch & enjoy a social lunch with peers.
13:15: Have an aromatherapy session to help with grounding & relaxation.
14:00: Have a drink (using current speech & language guidence).
14:30: Arts & crafts session with adaptive equipment.
15:30: Time to go home.
Everyone's day looks different and everyone is supported to take part in meaningful activities that are person centered. Everyone gets the most from their day by having a Nurse on hand to manage all ongoing health needs.

As promised, today here is a little more about the support we offer at Ashby House. This includes but is not limited to: every individual having a named nurse, family support via phone, email and home visits, comprehensive planning ahead of a stay with us, person centred care planning, planned with the individual or their families/carers where possible, referrals to other services when required, executing plans from other professionals (physio, speech & language etc). Supporting health through regular physical health checks, maintaining health through management of epilepsy, bowel & bladder, diabetes, respiratory, nutrion & hydration, sleep, cardiac symptoms and others. The list really does go on and on and is a big part of why we are proud of the service we provide ❤️ Coventry and Warwickshire Partnership NHS Trust

To carry on our "getting to know us" week. Today we are talking about The Lodge. Pictured below the lodge is our day service for adults with learning disabilities and complex health needs. In this service which is also nurse led, we pride ourselves on being about to support people with complex health to access opportunities that they may otherwise not access due the support they need to maintain good health. We will talk later in the week about what this looks like. We are also providing access to meaningful activities and up to date modern equipment to enhance the service we can provide.

This week we thought we could tell you a little bit about our services and the things we are doing. We start with Ashby House pictured below. Ashby provides a home away from home to adults with learning disabilities and complex health needs. We specialise in short break Nurse led care with a focus on maintaining good health and supporting people to stay well. This can be very complex and we will talk about this later in the week.

As some of you will be aware we have had some temporary issues in the buildings this week. We just wanted to say to anyone , Service users, families, staff that have been affected a big thank you for your understanding ❤️ We have still managed to have a good week and have enjoyed some great activities 😊

As you all know we held our Summer garden party on 1st July and have been busy getting our professional photos ready to show you all the fun we had. A massive thank you again to our health cate assistant Jo Mahony for perfectly capturing the day. We had upwards of 70 guests this year including a visit from the new Mayor of Nuneaton who judged our bake off 😊. We are so pleased that the day was a success and everyone had a great time 🥳 Rebel Phatbreads Cucamelons guitar group Coventry and Warwickshire Partnership NHS Trust *EDIT* We almost forgot to tell you all that we raised £318 during the garden party 🥳 well done everyone 🙌

We all enjoyed the weather early in the day yesterday (before it was to hot). We had a music session on the lawn with music, drums and tamborines, then cooled off later with some lovely ice lollies ❤️

Yesterday we had the absolute pleasure of attending a learner celebration event in which these fabulous guys collected certificates in Drama, Cooking and Music. Well done, we are very proud of all of you and all of your hard work, now its time to enjoy the summer break 👏 🥳 ☀️ Coventry and Warwickshire Partnership NHS Trust
