Mary Ann Evans Hospice As a Hospice, we provide end of life care to people who have a life limiting illness, such as cancer, motor neurone disease, or heart failure.

Care and support is offered to our patients and their families of all cultures and faiths. The Mary Ann Evans Hospice offers a warm and welcoming home from home environment and was established to enhance the quality of life to people who have a diagnosis of cancer and other life limiting illnesses. Care and support is offered to our patients and their families/carers of all cultures and faiths, what ever their needs:- physical, emotional, psychological, social or spiritual. The Day Hospice provides care for up to 15 patients a day Monday to Friday and the Hospice at Home Team offers dedicated care and support to patients who choose to be cared for in their own home. The dedicated team consists of a Staff Nurse and Senior Health Care Assistants who have experience working with palliative care patients. They provide regular respite visits, usually 3 - 4 hours in length, to enable carers to take a well earned break. The service is available 7 days per week 7am – I0pm and we also offer a limited night service from I0pm - 7am. Respite, personal care, support visits and phone calls are accessible on an individual basis within available resources. All care give is free of charge to those attending the Hospice.

Save The Date - Eternal Lights 2025

On Sunday 7th December 2025, we warmly invite you, your family, and friends to join us for this special evening of remembrance as we hold our annual Christmas Memorial Service, in partnership with Devall & Son.

This service is a time to pause during the festive season, to remember those we love, to honour their lives, and to find comfort and hope together as a community.

In the coming weeks, we will be sharing further details, including how to upload a photo for the memorial, what to expect on the evening, and full event timings. Please keep an eye on our social channels for updates.

Yesterday we attended the Stockingford Ladies Group at St Pauls Church, which is a group that meets once a month to hear from different speakers within the local area. 💜

We were able to talk to the group about Mary Ann Evans Hospice, the work that we do, and how they can support us, too.

Whilst we were there, Zoe, our Community Engagement & Fundraising Officer, was very kindly presented with a cheque for £100.

This was a lovely surprise and one that we are truly grateful for. Thank you so much to the Stockingford Ladies Group for this donation.

This group meets on the first Wednesday of every month, and sessions include information, advice, and guidance whilst offering an informal and friendly space for those who need it.

The August Green Therapy Group session was very busy with lots of activities going on. 💜

The group harvested potatoes, which were planted in bags, bird boxes were painted to be hung around the garden, and a succulent picture frame was also made.

Our Green Therapy Group runs on the third Tuesday of every month, at Mary Ann Evans Hospice from 1:30 pm – 3:30 pm.

As usual, we would like to share our thanks with the Forest of Hearts for supporting our Green Therapy Group.

On Saturday, we officially opened our brand new store – Mary Ann’s Marketplace! 💜🌻

Located at the Ropewalk Shopping Centre, Nuneaton, the launch was well attended by supporters of the hospice and members of the public.

The celebration began with a lively performance by the Nuneaton Ukulele Jam Band 2025, followed by a speech from Chief Executive Liz Hancock. The ribbon was officially cut by Hospice Patron, Kay Alexander MBE.

Liz Hancock said, “Today marks an exciting chapter, as we bring together our Homestore on Weddington Terrace and our Nuneaton shop on Harefield Road.

We hope you’ll think that Mary Ann’s Marketplace is more than just a shop; a community hub, a place to find pre-loved fashion, vintage treasures, homeware, furniture, books, and even enjoy a coffee in our café.

Every purchase you make helps us care for people within our community, affected by a life-limiting illness. At a time when hospices across the country are facing significant funding challenges, this new venture reflects our commitment to diversifying income and securing the future of local hospice care.”
