Another great session at tai chi last night. Definitely getting warmer, all we wish for now is to leave while it's still light 😁.

We still have a couple of starter places available if interested.

It's interesting having a club with members at various stages in their tai chi journey. There are so many opportunities to learn from each other and for the more experienced to remember how they were taught and to pass on that knowledge as best they can to become better teachers.

The Tai Chi 10 Form is the second form we practice at the club and is also known as the 10 Posture Tai Chi Routine or sometimes the 8 Form (when excluding the opening and closing movements). It is a modern simplified sequence. It was first taught in Beijing in 1999 to provide a compact foundation for the Yang style.

Key Features
Accessibility: It is significantly shorter than the standard Yang 24 Form, making it easier to memorize and perform in under five minutes.
Compact: It can be practiced in a small area.
Symmetry: Unlike longer forms that may favor one side, the 10 Form emphasizes practicing each movement on both the left and right sides.

Great to back tonight and meet up with everyone again. Here's to a great 2026.

2026 has opened with a chilly start and some snow. Feels like we're going to need some tai chi to get the joints loose and the circulation flowing to see off the winter.
