Last week marked the launch of the Women in Rail cross-company mentoring programme, an inspiring start to a journey of growth, connection, and reflection.
It was a privilege to guide the room through the programme, helping participants understand not just the logistics, but the mindset and habits that support meaningful development.
Mentoring is more than a conversation. It is a trusted, two-way partnership built on curiosity, empathy, active listening, and reflection. It is in these relationships that people can truly thrive; setting goals, establishing habits and systems, and turning insight into action.
Our panel, Joanne MacPhail, FCIPD Claire Repeti and Dr Nicola Millard brought these ideas to life with honest stories of navigating change, building resilience, and learning from reflection. Their experiences highlighted how small mindset shifts and intentional action can create disproportionate impact during moments of transition.
A huge thank you to Judith Evans, Rebecca Davies and the Moving Ahead team for designing such a thoughtful programme,
to Rajinder Pryor MBE ( ਰਜਿੰਦਰ ਪ੍ਰਾਇਰ )for leadership and allyship,
and to Jane Walker at BT for hosting so brilliantly.
For everyone stepping into their mentoring partnership; this is just the beginning. The conversations, curiosity, and reflection that follow will shape what you see as possible next.
