Thirty years ago, a majority of men (55%) reported having at least six close friends. Today, that number has been cut in half, according to data. And 15% of men reported having no close friendships at all.

Men learn to process emotions on their own, or turn to afemale friend, a partner. Over time, from my own experienceyou lose the skills to maintain those relationships. And when you do have male friends, there is only a few topics you cantalk about: sports, work, women. Sharing about grief, loss and hard stuff is very difficult to do.

Sometimes it can be really hard to find men who are on thesame level and reciprocate any deeper conversations. This is why groups like ours are so important. We are giving men permission to speak openly without fear of judgment.

As always we would love to hear your experiences on this topic.
