Every 90 minutes, someone in the UK or Ireland dies by su***de. Today is World Su***de Prevention Day and a chance to raise awareness and remind ourselves that conversations really can save lives.

The theme this year is changing the narrative, which encourages us to talk more openly about su***de and suicidal thoughts. You do not need to have all the answers. Simply listening with compassion, showing empathy and checking in with someone regularly can make a big difference.

Today is Grandparents Day and we’re asking our local community to check in on your loved ones

Our sepsis lead nurse, Christina, explains why it’s important to get checked out by a healthcare professional if you’ve recently had an infection and it has not gone away.

Sepsis is a life-threatening condition usually caused by an infection. The quicker treatment is started the more chance of recovery. Don’t put off seeing a healthcare professional.
