10 years!! What a decade it has been!
Life has brought me immense changes and
2025 feels hugely significant of how far I’ve come.

In 2015 I bought my house and set up my business. I bought my house as a nuclear family before becoming a single parent. Life then became not just about survival but about showing my girls how to live and love life, despite the challenges we have faced. More than just a place, this house has become a true home, filled with love, growth, and resilience.

In 2016 I experienced the deep loss of my much loved Dad. Life has never been the same but his final gift to me was the encouragement, belief, and the money, to start my own business. 12 days later, along came my second beautiful girl, I think I needed her more than she needed me.

From being a paediatric intensive care nurse to owning and growing a successful aesthetic business, whilst becoming a children’s heart nurse specialist. I’ve loved every experience and opportunity and continue to grow in new dimensions.

The heartbreak of loosing my dad, divorce and single parenting of two young girls aged just 5 and 3. This last decade has seen me completely and utterly broken but it’s created the strongest, happiest version of myself. Alongside my awesome friends and family, my aesthetics business has focussed and driven me forward.

My heart is full of love and gratitude. Thank you to the clients who have become friend’s, who believed and trusted in me from day one and who unknowingly became my therapy. I’m forever thankful and so excited to see where the next decade takes me ❤️

What better way to celebrate than in my most favourite place in the world, with my girls and our besties ☀️🥂💖

Gummy smile vs lip flip

Anti wrinkle injections really are the best! Not only can we use them to get rid of lines and wrinkles in our upper face, but a growing trend is to use them as a lip enhancement treatment. This is partly down to it trending on social media and partly down to a reduction in people wanting to have fillers in their lips (this will require a separate post to explain).

It’s important to know that each of these treatment are patient specific and are down to individual anatomy.

A gummy smile treatment is placement of anti wrinkle injections into the levator labii superioris alaeque muscle (what a mouthful!!) This muscle moves like a theatre curtain and lifts the lip upwards. In some people this muscle is particularly strong and means that when they smile they show more gum than they would like (typically more than 2mm).

A lip flip treatment is placement of anti wrinkle injections into the orbicularis oris muscle which is found around the lip line and when relaxed it stops the upper lip from curling inwards when smiling; think about a roller door on a garage. As a result the lip essentially “flips” outwards and stops it from disappearing when we smile.

So basically, gummy smile shows less gum when smiling , lip flip shows more top lip when smiling.

Both treatments focus on the top lip. They are subtle treatments. They are temporary lasting around 2-4 months. Treatments are quick, less than 5 minutes to perform (I will put topical numbing cream on beforehand which takes a bit longer). Results will start to show after a few days with the full effect after 14 days. DM me if you have any other questions 😁

Last summer, whilst on holiday with my little loves 💖💖 and some of my besties in the beautiful island of Rhodes (a holiday that almost didn’t happen due to the horrendous Forest fires. My holiday had, in fact, been cancelled and I defiantly rebooked another, much to my NGGBF disapproval, never one to back down at the first hurdle). It had been a difficult few months which had included a broken heart, several months of single single parenting and a pharmacology degree ( to become an independent nurse prescriber). The holiday had been a goal to get to; on completion of my degree, and allowed me a week to reset and recharge, whilst deciding what to do next with my newfound qualification .

One of the days whilst lying by the pool, I said to my BF , I know what I’m going to do! (I’m sure she thought oh god, what now 🙈😂)

I have been fortunate to have been in the aesthetic world since 2015 and have built up a successful business, thanks to my wonderful clients, many of who have become friends 🫶🏻

Botox, (now very closely followed by polynucleotides 🧬) will always be my favourite treatment. But as it’s well known, I love a “tweakment” and firmly believe in a more natural looking result. So in an aesthetic world full of fillers (which absolutely do have their place and are sometimes required) I had a lightbulb moment of knowing where I wanted to use my over 20 years of nursing and aesthetic experience, knowledge and skills….

Wellbeing, Menopause and Longevity

These are the three main areas that have given me reason to rebrand and rename. I’ve been doing lots of reading and research over the last few months and I’m super excited to bring it all into my practice. Here’s to not only slowing down but also to stopping, and even reversing the aging process ❤️
