Swan Counselling

Swan Counselling Swan counselling offers face to face, Skype, FaceTime counselling to individuals and couples of all ages. A safe place to talk through your concerns.

My name is Tracey; I am a mum of three, nanny of two and I love the job I do. I have been working as a counsellor now since 2011 and I have a range of experience and knowledge in different areas. I work at two counselling agencies, the Acorn centre in Nuneaton since 2011 and Coping with Cancer in Leicester since 2012, and used to volunteer as a listener with the Samaritans. It has taken a while to get to where I want to be, during which time I have learnt and explored a lot about myself and the person I am. I am a qualified counsellor and a full member of the BACP. I have also done my BACP Certificate of Proficiency and I am on their register. In doing this I work to the BACP ethical framework and code of practice. I attended regular CPD (and continue to work on my own professional development) as well as my clinical practice. When starting out on my counselling journey, a requirement of the training was to undertake personal therapy myself. At times this was challenging, however it enabled me to explore more about the person I am and develop my own self awareness. This has helped with my client work and as your counsellor I will actively listen. Together we will explore issues that are troubling you. Throughout my journey I have got to understand more about the ways people re affected by their loss, circumstances and concerns in life by putting myself into their frame of reference and this has given me a great insight. I identify and honour that when we experience relationship / family concerns, stress, loss or mental health issues its quite natural to feel emotional and isolated, so this can effect our capacity to cope. The core of my approach to the therapeutic alliance is that there is always hope. I will offer you the time, space and a non-judgmental environment where together, over time, we can create our working relationship. In this confidential domain we will build a mutual bond based on trust, honesty and authenticity. During our work I will give you the space to be heard and be parallel to you so we can examine and consider your concerns to help clarify them. I will work with whatever you bring to the sessions. I believe we all have the ability to change and challenge ourselves; this therapeutic change will continue after counselling has ceased (we all have the tools to develop ourselves, its about how and when we want to use them).
