Hello September, I do hope everyone got to enjoy the summer at various points. We had a lovely summer at RRFSC; we've had chat and chill sessions catching up with friends, a fabulous, uplifting music session and a day trip to London where some of our families went to the Natural History Museum, London please enjoy some images shown in the video below.

A email has gone out this morning sharing information about the Rutland Inclusive Family Fun Day, we are apart of in conjunction with Rutland Parent Carer Voice and Aiming High please check your emails and book onto the event via Aiming High.

Our next coffee morning is on September 18th at Castle Cottage 9.30am-11am.

Sunflowers restarts on 8th September please email Info@rrfsc.org.uk to book on.

Term time activities start again fro. Saturday and I look forward to catching up with some families then.

👋✨ Join Us for Signing Practice Group! ✨👋

Whether you're a parent, carer, professional or volunteer—everyone is welcome to come along and learn some basic Makaton signs in a relaxed and friendly space.

Makaton is a fantastic way to support communication with young children and people with speech or language difficulties. You don’t need any experience—just a willingness to join in and have fun while learning something new!

Good morning unfortunately our coffee morning on 17th July is having to be cancelled. I will however be seeing some of you on July 31st for our chat and chill session. Please feel free to come along and join us there for a relaxed play, feel free to bring snacks or there is a cafe on site.

Today, we launch the Save Our Children’s Rights campaign.

It’s been widely reported that the government is considering SEND reforms that could remove EHC plans and weaken children’s legal rights.

We cannot let that happen.

We’ve joined with Special Needs Jungle, SOS SEN, SEND National Crisis, SEND Rights Alliance and Learning Disability Today to defend the legal rights of children and young people with SEND.

The law isn’t the problem - failure to follow it is.

Celebrating 26 Years of Rutland Rotaract Family Support Centre

Today has been an emotional one as we celebrated 26 years of the Rutland Rotaract Family Support Centre. It’s so hard to capture what we do in numbers or explain it fully in words, because really, it’s about feelings, belonging, and community.

We’ve watched children grow in confidence, form friendships, and develop life and sports skills in a space that is non-judgemental, kind, and supportive. We’ve seen parents and carers connect at our events, building their own support networks that extend far beyond our sessions. Siblings and SEND children find companionship and understanding in each other, creating moments of joy in what can often be a challenging everyday life.

Week after week, families show up, not because they have to, but because they want to. And that says everything. Whether it’s horse riding, drumming, or swimming, these activities aren’t just sessions, they're lifelines for children who may have struggled to access support in activities elsewhere. Here, they’re welcomed, encouraged, and celebrated for who they are.

I’m deeply thankful to our trustees, committee members, and incredible activity instructors who help make it all happen. And to our wider community, thank you. Whether you join us, support us, or help raise funds, you’re part of something truly special. Special thanks to The Lions Club of Rutland CIO for providing their time and funding the BBQ we really do apreciate you. Community members please support their cause in Tescos with the blue tokens, thet do so much for the Rutland community.

Here’s to continuing this journey of connection, care, and shared joy. 💙

🌟 Exciting Weekend at the Charity! 🌟

It’s been a lovely weekend so far, I’ve had the chance to catch up with some of our wonderful families at swimming, and I’m looking forward to seeing even more of you at today’s BBQ! 🎉

🏅 Activity certificates are prepped and ready to hand out, so don’t forget to collect yours! (These will be given at the last lesson if you can not make today)
🎈 The BBQ will be going ahead as planned, though if it’s a bit too breezy for the bouncy castle, we’ve got some fun alternative activities lined up instead.

RRFSC pay for the first hot/ cold soft drink.

Please use the small car park for Oakham Castle, the cafe is on the right hand side of the building if you follow the path round you will see the entrance. You will need to get a parking permit front the cafe to display in your car while using the grounds.
