👏 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝗴𝗿𝗮𝘁𝘂𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝗮 𝗳𝗮𝗻𝘁𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗰 𝘁𝗲𝗮𝗺 𝗼𝗳 𝗰𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗿𝘀 who recently trained with us. This group all care for one individual, and it was a 𝗳𝘂𝗻-𝗳𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗱, 𝗲𝗻𝗴𝗮𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗱𝗮𝘆 with some excellent, scenario-based questions.

What made the day really stand out was the depth of discussion around “what would we do if…?” situations — questions we’re able to answer confidently because our trainers bring 𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗹-𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗹𝗱, 𝗽𝗿𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗲𝘅𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲, 𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝗷𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗼𝗿𝘆.

🩺 Training that’s relevant.
🗣️ Open discussion.
💪 Confidence to act when it matters.

Last 𝗠𝗼𝗻𝗱𝗮𝘆 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗧𝘂𝗲𝘀𝗱𝗮𝘆 we delivered a 𝗙𝗶𝗿𝘀𝘁 𝗔𝗶𝗱 𝗮𝘁 𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗸 𝗥𝗲𝗾𝘂𝗮𝗹𝗶𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗰𝗼𝘂𝗿𝘀𝗲 — two full days, face to face, refreshing skills and building confidence.

For those who originally completed the full three-day First Aid at Work course, this requalification is all about revisiting the essentials, lots of hands-on practice, and updating knowledge (plus a few extras along the way!).

This course was delivered over 𝘁𝘄𝗼 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗲𝗰𝘂𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗮𝗳𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗼𝗼𝗻𝘀 at 𝗚𝗿𝗲𝗲𝘁𝗵𝗮𝗺 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗛𝗮𝗹𝗹 (what a fantastic venue — and it’s available for hire!), making training realistic and accessible.

Taking a full day away from farming simply isn’t practical — animals still need looking after. By splitting the course, everyone was able to gain essential first aid skills without compromising their responsibilities.

👏 A great example of how flexible training can work for rural and agricultural businesses.

If your industry needs a more practical approach to training delivery, get in touch — we’re happy to adapt to suit you.

Spotting the early warning signs can save a life.

Type 1 diabetes can develop quickly, especially in children and young adults. Recognising the symptoms early means getting treatment fast and avoiding serious complications such as diabetic ketoacidosis (DKA). The Four T’s are an easy way to remember what to look out for:

𝟭. 𝗧𝗵𝗶𝗿𝘀𝘁𝘆
Extreme thirst that doesn’t go away, even after drinking plenty of fluids.

𝟮. 𝗧𝗼𝗶𝗹𝗲𝘁
Needing to urinate far more often than usual, including waking up at night.

𝟯. 𝗧𝗶𝗿𝗲𝗱
Unusual fatigue, lack of energy, or falling asleep more often.

𝟰. 𝗧𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗻𝗲𝗿
Sudden or unexplained weight loss.

If you notice any of these signs in yourself or someone you care about, don’t wait. Contact a GP or NHS 111 immediately.

Raising awareness of the Four T’s could help someone get the diagnosis and support they need sooner.

🩵 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝘀𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗖𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲𝗿 𝗔𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀 – 𝗞𝗻𝗼𝘄 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗦𝗶𝗴𝗻𝘀, 𝗖𝗵𝗲𝗰𝗸 𝗬𝗼𝘂𝗿𝘀𝗲𝗹𝗳

Prostate cancer is the 𝗺𝗼𝘀𝘁 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗺𝗼𝗻 𝗰𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲𝗿 𝗶𝗻 𝗺𝗲𝗻 𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗨𝗞, yet many don’t realise that early prostate cancer often has no symptoms at all.
That’s why awareness, regular checks, and knowing your own body are so important.

𝗪𝗵𝗼’𝘀 𝗺𝗼𝘀𝘁 𝗮𝘁 𝗿𝗶𝘀𝗸?
Men are at higher risk if they are:
✔️ Aged 𝟱𝟬 𝗼𝗿 𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿
✔️ Have a 𝗳𝗮𝗺𝗶𝗹𝘆 𝗵𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘆 of prostate or breast cancer
✔️ Black men (risk increases from age 45)

𝗛𝗼𝘄 𝘁𝗼 𝗰𝗵𝗲𝗰𝗸 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿𝘀𝗲𝗹𝗳:
Unlike some cancers, prostate cancer 𝗰𝗮𝗻’𝘁 𝗯𝗲 𝗱𝗲𝘁𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵 𝗮 𝘀𝗲𝗹𝗳-𝗲𝘅𝗮𝗺 𝗮𝗹𝗼𝗻𝗲 — the prostate is internal. But you can check in other important ways:

🔵 𝗞𝗻𝗼𝘄 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘀𝘆𝗺𝗽𝘁𝗼𝗺𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘀𝗽𝗲𝗮𝗸 𝘁𝗼 𝗮 𝗚𝗣 𝗶𝗳 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗻𝗼𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗲:

• Difficulty starting or stopping urination
• A weak flow
• Needing to p*e more often, especially at night
• Feeling like your bladder hasn’t emptied
• Blood in urine or semen
• Pain in the lower back, hips, or pelvis

🔵 𝗧𝗮𝗸𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗣𝗦𝗔 𝗯𝗹𝗼𝗼𝗱 𝘁𝗲𝘀𝘁
Ask your GP about a 𝗣𝗦𝗔 𝘁𝗲𝘀𝘁, a simple blood test that can help detect early signs of prostate cancer. It isn’t perfect, but it’s an important tool — especially if you’re in a higher-risk group.

🔵 𝗞𝗻𝗼𝘄 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗻𝗼𝗿𝗺𝗮𝗹
Changes matter. If something feels different, don’t ignore it.

🔵 𝗧𝗮𝗹𝗸 𝗮𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝗶𝘁
Men often avoid conversations about health. A simple chat could encourage someone to get checked — and could save a life.

𝗘𝗮𝗿𝗹𝘆 𝗱𝗲𝘁𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝘀𝗮𝘃𝗲𝘀 𝗹𝗶𝘃𝗲𝘀.
If something doesn’t feel right, speak to your GP. Checking in on your health is not a sign of weakness — it’s a sign of strength. 💙

🎃 𝗛𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗼𝘄𝗲𝗲𝗻 𝗦𝗮𝗳𝗲𝘁𝘆 𝗧𝗶𝗽 🎃

Halloween is spooky enough—don’t let an unexpected trip to A&E add to the fright! Many costumes are made from highly flammable synthetic materials like polyester or nylon, which can ignite quickly if they catch fire.

𝗦𝘁𝗮𝘆 𝘀𝗮𝗳𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗛𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗼𝘄𝗲𝗲𝗻:
✅ Choose flame-resistant fabrics
✅ Avoid long, trailing elements on costumes
✅ Keep well away from open flames
✅ Teach children how to 𝗦𝘁𝗼𝗽, 𝗗𝗿𝗼𝗽, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗥𝗼𝗹𝗹 𝗶𝗻 𝗮𝗻 𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗿𝗴𝗲𝗻𝗰𝘆

A little preparation goes a long way—have a fun, safe, and fire-aware Halloween! 🕯️👻
