Heartfelt Finance:

Finance or the lack of it can be a real stress for people, myself included!

Those of you who know me will know I have spent many years living on islands. I ended up working a variety of jobs from bird scarer to bee counter to nursery teacher.

I'm not getting paid to be out in nature any more but I do still have multiple jobs. I work as a partner for Utilities Warehouse and offer free reviews to people of their household bills.

Where are you sitting with finance at the moment?

Are you an individual or small business who needs to generate an additional income stream?

Do you have a customer base or are you a chatty person?

You could earn an extra income just by name-dropping Utility Warehouse and sending folk in my direction. It's called being a "CONNECTOR".

Interested? Reply with YES and I'll get back to you with more info.

FYI, this is not a scam, I'm a real person living in Taynuilt with kids and a house and bills to pay. I'm also currently working at our fantastic local garden centre, Corachie Clematis, so you can come check me out there (and enjoy the lovely plants and cafe )

When NOT making a sale is a good thing.

I met an older lady recently and over a cup of tea we had a look at her household bills. ( as a partner with Utility Warehouse I offer free reviews of bills either over zoom or in person--energy, mobile and broadband).

As we were chatting it became clear that she used her mobile very little and had no need for extra data. As she was a long term customer with her broadband provider she was already on an excellent deal so our £26 package only matched what she had already.

Fifteen minutes into the conversation and we were down to reviewing electricity only. She had very low usage as she lives by herself and was already on a fixed tariff. I explained to her that UW work best when you bundle offers, so in all honesty, again, we could only match what she had.

No switch, no sale, no commission. Why was I still happy at the end of the conversation?

1. I knew I'd helped her to understand her bills better and given her confidence to know she was on good deals

2. I'd stayed true to my own ethics and let the numbers speak for themselves, not pushed for anything

3. I'd had a great cup of tea and homemade flapjack!

What about you?

Would you like to be confident that you are getting the best quality deals for your personal situation?

Would you like a free review?

Reply YES and we can find a time that suits and see if we can save you some ££ or stress with bills in one place.

It may or may not be for you but it's worth having the conversation!

Cheers,
Emma

PS
I don't expect flapjacks :)

𝑪𝙪𝒓𝙞𝒐𝙨𝒊𝙩𝒚 𝒂𝙣𝒅 𝒄𝙤𝒎𝙥𝒂𝙨𝒔𝙞𝒐𝙣.

What do these words mean to you?

Curiosity for me moves me from passive to active. It encourages me to not simply accept what is in front of me OR the thought patterns and beliefs I fall into.

Curiosity encourages me to not believe my own hype.

Compassion? That burns off judgement; it softens the edges of what I might see if I am truly curious. So often we simply accept something to be true without updating/refreshing our viewpoint.

Take a pen and paper and scribble down 3 beliefs you hold. Without thinking too much, right now, pick up a pen or make a note on your phone. Note the following:

a belief about the world
a belief about another person
a belief about yourself
Invite a curiosity to come up; a curiosity that is open and non-judgemental. Take a moment and reflect on those beliefs. How much are you believing your own hype?

Happy Sunday, happy pondering

This week, let’s practice mindful listening, but to yourself. Before you rush into decisions or advice-seeking, pause and ask:
💚“What do I already know?”
💚“What feels true in my body?”
Your inner wisdom doesn’t shout, it whispers and mindfulness helps you hear it.

💬 Can you try this today? Let me know what your inner voice had to say. 👇

"If you listen to your body when it whispers, you won’t have to hear it scream." – Unknown

Your body speaks in sighs, tension, cravings, fatigue.
It’s not broken—it’s communicating.

🌿 Mindfulness is how we begin to listen again.

Try this the next time you feel disconnected or overwhelmed:

🟢Pause and place both hands gently on your heart.
🟢Close your eyes and take three slow, steady breaths.
🟢Say to yourself: “Right now, it’s okay to come back to me.”

You don’t need to force clarity, you just need to return to yourself, gently and with kindness.

💬 What do you notice when you pause and place your hands on your heart?

Have you ever noticed how hard it is to receive?
💚 To receive help.
💚 To receive praise.
💚 To receive rest without guilt.

Many of us are conditioned to give, give, give… and when something is offered to us, we freeze or deflect.

What if receiving was just as sacred as giving?
What if allowing yourself to receive isn’t selfish, it’s healing?

💬 What’s something you’re learning to receive with more grace?

...not a counsellor

I think that many people struggle with day to day aspects of life. Over the last few years I have taken up yoga, tai chi and spend a bit of time each day just sitting in stillness. The challenge for me is how to bring the sense of calm I gain from these activities into my daily life. What’s the use of meditating and reaching higher states of well being if that is shattered as soon as you step back and see the dishes aren’t done, laundry needs folding, you have a deadline at work and your mother in law has yet again eaten all your favourite biscuits!

The work I do with folk is getting people to meet their moment, whatever that is; don’t feed it and don’t fight it. I enable people to support themselves more in their lives and gain a sense of steadiness. I offer a safe place in which you can explore your relationship with your anxieties, frustrations, resentments however small or large they may seem. You can develop skills to support and nurture yourself by drawing on your inner resources. So, although I am not a counsellor or therapist, the work I do is therapeutic. It’s up to you how deep you want to go on own journey. The first step may be to explore your current attitudes and relationship to your life.
