Ferritin & hair loss - let’s talk about it.

Ferritin (your iron storage levels) is essential for healthy hair growth. Low ferritin is commonly linked to increased shedding, thinning, and poor regrowth. But here’s what many people don’t realise…

Too little can contribute to hair loss - but too much ferritin can also create imbalance in the body and impact overall health.

This is why blindly supplementing iron without testing isn’t the answer.

I often see clients taking iron supplements “just in case”, without knowing their actual ferritin levels. The truth is, ferritin should never be looked at in isolation. It needs to be interpreted alongside other blood markers such as iron, transferrin, inflammation markers, and your full clinical picture.

Testing gives clarity. Guesswork doesn’t.

If you’re experiencing hair thinning, excessive shedding, or conditions like telogen effluvium or PCOS-related hair loss, understanding your internal health is key to achieving long-term results.

How often do I think about your hair?

More often than you think….

Because I know how often you think about it too ❤️

Every time you catch your reflection.
Every time you wash or style it.
Every time you notice it doesn’t feel quite the same.

For many people, it’s a constant thought and yet it’s so often dismissed as ‘normal’ or ‘just one of those things.’

But hair loss and scalp concerns are rarely random. They can be linked to hormonal changes, inflammation, stress, or nutritional imbalances, your body’s way of asking for support.

That’s why I look beyond the surface.
I take the time to understand what’s really going on, so we can work towards real, lasting results, not temporary fixes.

✨ If your hair has been on your mind more than usual, there may be a reason.

Book a consultation to start understanding what your hair is trying to tell you.
I’m here to help you find it.

Told your bloods are “normal”… but still losing hair?

Normal doesn’t mean optimal — especially when it comes to hair growth.

The real question is:
are your levels actually supporting your follicles?

Because when it comes to hair health…
normal isn’t always functional.

Your blood holds powerful growth factors… and they may be the key to restoring your hair.”

Most people think hair loss is purely genetic or simply “part of getting older”.

But in clinic I see something different.

Hair thinning is often linked to poor follicle signalling, inflammation, hormonal changes, or reduced circulation to the scalp.

This is where PRP (Platelet-Rich Plasma) can be incredibly powerful.

PRP uses a small sample of your own blood.

It’s placed in a medical centrifuge to separate the platelet-rich plasma, which contains powerful biological messengers called growth factors.

These growth factors help:

• Stimulate dormant hair follicles
• Improve scalp circulation
• Reduce inflammation around follicles
• Support thicker, healthier hair growth cycles

Once prepared, the PRP is carefully introduced back into the scalp in areas where hair follicles need stimulation.

Because it comes from your own body, it is a natural regenerative treatment used widely in medicine for healing and tissue repair.

In trichology we use it to wake up weakened follicles and support stronger hair growth.

However, PRP is not a one-size-fits-all treatment.

Hair loss can be caused by many things including:

• Hormonal imbalance
• Nutritional deficiencies
• Inflammation
• Genetics
• Stress on the scalp or body

This is why a proper scalp and hair consultation is essential first.

As a nurse with 20 years of clinical experience and a trichologist, I assess the root cause of hair thinning before recommending any treatment plan.

Sometimes PRP is appropriate.

Sometimes the solution lies in scalp health, internal health, or lifestyle factors.

Hair restoration is always about treating the cause, not just the symptom.

If you’re experiencing:

• Hair thinning
• Excess shedding
• Widening part lines
• Reduced density
• Hair that simply won’t grow

A consultation can help us understand why it’s happening and what we can do about it.
