The role of dermal filler.

Dermal filler is often misunderstood as simply adding volume, however in some cases treatment can instead be used to support facial structure and restore balance.

As the underlying scaffold of the face changes with age, dermal filler can be used to improve support with resultant changes beyond the treated area. Treating the cheeks can soften nasolabial folds or treating the corner of the jaw can improve jowling, for example.

A thoughtful assessment, considering facial anatomy, proportions and individual concerns, is crucial to creating balanced results. My approach is conservative, aiming for restoration rather than over filled.
