Meditation classes @ The Okehampton Library continue this Wednesday evening at 6.30pm. ๐
๐ Happiness comes from inner peace and we can cultivate this by developing positive minds, such as love and patience, however we can also learn to identify and gradually weaken the negative habits of mind that cause our stress, anxiety and irritation. Buddha called these delusions and explained in detail how, through meditation we can learn to recognise, reduce and finally abandon these. ๐
Come along to these drop in classes to find out more. ๐

"Since we all have within us our own source of peace and happiness, we may wonder why it is so hard to maintain a continually peaceful and joyful mind. This is because of the delusions that so often crowd our mind. Delusions are distorted ways of looking at ourself, other people and the world around us โ like a distorted mirror they reflect a distorted world....they are not an essential part of our mind. They are defilements that temporarily pollute our mind but do not sully its pure, essential nature. They are like mud that dirties water but never becomes an intrinsic part of it. Just as mud can always be removed to reveal pure, clear water, so delusions can be removed to reveal the natural purity and clarity of our mind." Geshe Kelsang Gyatso "How to Transform Your Life."
