We recently welcomed a visit from Greatfield Hedgehog Rescue Okehampton here at Hatherleigh Nursing Home for an engaging talk all about hedgehogs. 🦔

With Devon ranked among the top counties in the UK for hog sightings, it sparked plenty of conversation about spotting them in gardens and on local walks!

Baking Tuesdays! 🧁

For those who may be on a cognitive journey, baking a cake can be experienced in many different ways. Whether its mixing the ingredients, feeling the texture of the batter, stirring the bowl, or noticing the familiar smells of eggs and flour. All of these small moments can evoke positive feelings of being at home, somewhere safe, familiar and comforting, while also giving a sense of purpose and involvement.

We had a wonderful Burns Night celebration in our very own Scottish inspired castle (Belvedere Lounge). The team did an amazing job dressing the space, creating an immersive atmosphere for our family members to enjoy. Everyone tucked into traditional Scottish favourites like haggis, neeps and tatties, cock-a-leekie soup and cranachan, with the surroundings and shared moment making it a positive mealtime experience for everyone. 💙
