Made-Well CIC Made-Well is a not-for-profit community interest company providing a safe and welcoming place for all! The Made-Well Cafe We are open to the public.

Made-Well is a not-for-profit community interest company established in August 2007 which provides positive and purposeful opportunities. We reach out to all people, especially those with learning disabilities, physical disabilities mental illness and loneliness. Our site is family & dog friendly and wheelchair accessible. There is no entrance fee. We have an inclusive playground, Changing Places

toilet, animals and gardens. The services that Made-Well offers include:

- Support and enabling for young people and adults with a learning & / or physical disability or mental health condition, in a group or on a 1-1 basis. A range of sessions including farm and sheep work, animal care, café, woodwork, horticulture, life skills, cooking, arts and crafts, music, maintenance, day trips, community events and activities, sports and exercise, market days, supported employment opportunities and supported holidays. We offer a free taster day. To arrange a visit, please email visits@made-well.co.uk

- Pony therapy sessions, 1:1 or small group. Please contact animalteam@made-well.co.uk to book.

- Animal Club every Saturday, for all ages and abilities. Fun for the whole family or come on your own and meet others who enjoy spending time with animals. Please see our website for further information and to book (or pay in our cafe).

- Need a venue? We have facilities to hire including our sensory room and the Pebble (with kitchen facilities). We cater for birthday parties. Please see our website for further information.

- Party and Therapy Ponies: we come to you! Our Shetland ponies can come to your special occasion. Please contact animalteam@made-well.co.uk for a quote.

- Educational visits for schools and community groups. To arrange a visit, please email visits@made-well.co.uk

Who is joining us for our next Home Education Session? 😎 Last Tuesday the morning group spent time in the sensory room, took our ponies for a walk, bathed Ernie (the tortoise), decorated some meringue nests as a scrummy snack to take home and had fun with clay modelling. The afternoon group chose to go on a walk, paddled in a river and then enjoyed our inclusive playground.

At Made-Well, we offer meaningful, hands-on experiences in a supportive environment for children that do not attend school — from animal care and horticulture to creative and sensory activities. Sessions can be tailored to the needs and interests of each individual.

Unregistered Alternative Provision (UAP) is a type of personalised support offered outside of a mainstream or special school. It’s designed for children and young people who may not be thriving in traditional settings and need a different approach to learning, engagement, or well-being.

Looking for something to do this Summer? Come to Made-Well!

🐾 Animal Club runs every Saturday 1–2pm – meet and help care for our friendly animals! For all ages and abilities.
🎉 Animal Club Special Fridays (during the summer holidays, 1–2:30pm) includes crafts, animal handling and pony dress-up!
🐰 Animal Experiences and Walks! Available daily, book in advance by calling 01837 810584 or emailing animalteam@made-well.co.uk.
🌿 Enjoy our accessible garden trail, spot wildlife and explore at your own pace. We currently have lots of butterflies and bees.
🎠 Enjoy our inclusive playground – open daily 9am–4pm, for all ages.
☕ Relax in our onsite café with a children’s corner, book swap and local produce for sale. Seating inside and outside.
🐶 Well-behaved dogs on leads welcome!

🦄 Animal club including craft and pony dress-up!

😊 Our staff are DBS checked and children aged 8+ (which do not require support) can be left with us. Parents/guardians are welcome to enjoy a drink or bite to eat in our café whilst they wait, or join in with the fun if they prefer! Please let us know if you plan to leave our site, we will require your contact details and medical information for your child.

👛 £9 per participating person - non-participating adults/guardians/babies go free. Non-participating means not entering animal pens or taking part in craft activities.

Have you tried our cooked breakfast yet? Available all day, every day (except when we hold events).

On Friday's we have a deal:

🍳 A large full English breakfast with a hot drink of your choice for just £10 for pork sausages or just £8 for the veggie sausages*!

🥓 Orders in advance are welcome by calling 01837 810584 (option 3). We do takeaways!

☕ Our café hours are 9am - 4pm. Orders for hot food are 9:30am - 2:45pm.

* Subject to stock.

Come enjoy a good fry up, buy some lovely handmade and homegrown items and then explore our site - we have animals to see, an inclusive playground (with exercise equipment) and a garden, with trail. There's no site entrance fee and it's free parking!
