Made-Well CIC Made-Well is a not-for-profit community interest company providing a safe and welcoming place for all! We are open to the public. There is no entrance fee.

Based just outside of Hatherleigh, nr Okehampton, we offer enabling opportunities for adults and young people as well as public events and activities! Made-Well is a not-for-profit community interest company established in August 2007 which provides positive and purposeful opportunities. We reach out to all people, especially those with learning disabilities, physical disabilities mental illness and loneliness. Our site is family & dog friendly and wheelchair accessible. We have an inclusive playground, Changing Places toilet, animals and gardens. The services that Made-Well offers include:

- Support and enabling for young people and adults with a learning & / or physical disability or mental health condition, in a group or on a 1-1 basis. A range of sessions including farm and sheep work, animal care, café, woodwork, horticulture, life skills, cooking, arts and crafts, music, maintenance, day trips, community events and activities, sports and exercise, market days, supported employment opportunities and supported holidays. We offer a free taster day. To arrange a visit, please email visits@made-well.co.uk

- Pony therapy sessions, 1:1 or small group. Please contact animalteam@made-well.co.uk to book.

- Animal Club every Saturday, for all ages and abilities. Fun for the whole family or come on your own and meet others who enjoy spending time with animals. Please see our website for further information and to book (or pay in our cafe).

- Need a venue? We have facilities to hire including our sensory room and the Pebble (with kitchen facilities). We cater for birthday parties. Please see our website for further information.

- Party and Therapy Ponies: we come to you! Our Shetland ponies can come to your special occasion. Please contact animalteam@made-well.co.uk for a quote.

If you're a visitor to Made-Well, you may recognise Tashan for his happy attitude and big smiles! As you can see in these pictures, Tashan likes to stay busy, and has recently spent time in the Sensory Room, Animal Barn, helping with the washing and enjoying our new Numicon (funded kindly by Book Relief!) ✨

Tashan always brightens up the days of those around him, and we're proud he is part of our Made-Well community 🌻

We know being a young person - or parenting one! - can be difficult at times, despite all the joy that comes too... 😽

That's why we are home to the TEEN TIME and the PARENT/CARER SUPPORT GROUP, which form part of our SEN Hub here at Made-Well 💞 Both groups are FREE to join - funded by Devon County Council as a vital form of support to our local community.

Parent/Carer Support Group runs as a drop in from 10:30-12:30 each Thursday, offering a safe space for chats about the highs and lows of being a parent and/or carer. Emma Martin, our fantastic and experienced facilitator, is able to bring advice and expertise on a variety of subjects including funding, wellbeing, assessments and signposting services. Children are more than welcome, too! 😁 There is no need to book, just show up whenever suits you 👌

Teen Time runs from 1pm-3pm, aimed at teens struggling to engage in education who need a boost in their confidence and engagement. Each week, Emma will introduce new activities to encourage team-work and independent growth, whilst also providing a fun and safe environment to work through personal struggles and barriers 💪💗 To ensure the Teen Time group remains small and tailored to the needs of attendees, we ask that you book in by emailing madewellhub@gmail.com 💻

🐣 Easter Egg Hunt & Activity Day at Made-Well! 🐣

Join us on Saturday 4th April (9:30am–3pm) for a fun-filled Easter Egg Hunt and Activity Day at Made-Well! Bring the family along for a day of Easter activities, egg hunting and plenty of springtime fun.

🎟 £6 per participating child for the egg hunt! Pre-booking is essential:

🐾 Animal Club will still be running as usual from 1–2pm, so our regular visitors can still enjoy time with the animals (or book in for both!)

☕ Our café will be open from 9am–4pm, serving breakfasts, lunches, cakes, snacks and drinks, so you can make a full day of your visit.

Don't forget to book your young person's space for our Home Education social group!
In these 2 hour sessions, your child can enjoy time in our Sensory Room and engage in a range of opportunities not found in a traditional classroom, from Animal Care to Gardening, Crafts to Cooking all whilst meeting new friends 🤩
Often focused on nature and outdoor time, we ask that attendees (including parents in the morning!) wear coats and sensible shoes 😁🥾🌳

We have two groups:
👦 Mornings, 10-12 for ages 4 to 10 (parent must remain with child/ren)
👩‍🦰 Afternoons, 1-3 for ages 11 to 16 (fully booked for tomorrow, but you can book for next week!)
