🪩MADE-WELL AT DARTINGTON CRYSTAL🪩

We might have a great site with lots going on, but we also love taking trips to other local places, giving the people we support the opportunities we don't have at West Fishleigh Farm!

This week, we took a trip to Dartington Crystal in Torrington, who kindly hosted us for a glassmaking demonstration and some lunch. Thank you to the staff at Dartington Crystal for having us, we had a brilliant time!

You loved it so much last summer that we had to bring it back for spring! 🌹

The Hummingbirds will be joining us at Hatherleigh Community Centre on Sunday 29th March (only one week after Mothers' Day 👀) for an afternoon of musical fun and tasty treats! ☕🍰

You may remember Paul, one of the fabulous people we support, who before Christmas was helping to clean our Polytunnel - well, for his final day with us he took it a step further and assisted our Garden Team with getting compost and soil improver onto the beds 🌱🌿

Paul has been a smiley staple of Made-Well for several years now, and we will all miss seeing him in the gardens!

Also - whilst we're feeling grateful, we'd like to give a massive thank you to Neil and Jackie Walker of Fishleigh Down, Hatherleigh, who have kindly donated lots of useful items to Made-Well.
We've known Jackie and Neil for nearly 5 years, helping them maintain and create their beautiful gardens. They are moving on to pastures new, and have generously gifted Made-Well play equipment, a gazebo, outdoor lanterns, children's sit-on tractors, kitchen ware, an electronic organ and much much more. All of these will be of great use to us and the people we support.
Thanks again for thinking of Made-Well, your generosity is greatly appreciated. We hope your move goes smoothly and wish you all the best in the future. ❤️

We’re excited to share that Made-Well has received grant funding from Sport England 🏃‍♀️⚽🎾 to help the people we support take part in inclusive, accessible and fun physical activity — both on-site and out in the community 💚

Is your teen struggling emotionally? Are they disengaged at school, or not attending at all? Would they benefit from an encouraging space to develop confidence and feel supported?

Teen Time @ Made-Well is a BRAND NEW six week pilot program, where your teen can attend a two hour weekly support session for FREE thanks to funding from Devon County Council. Facilitated by an experienced professional, Emma Martin, the sessions will include team-building exercises, games and structured challenges to promote both group and individual skills.

The group is open to teens struggling with attending school, perhaps due to SEND or EBSA, and begins THIS THURSDAY 5th February.

Don't forget - Parent and Carer Support Group is open THIS THURSDAY for you to drop in anytime between 10:30am to 12:30pm ❤

In The Pebble here on our Made-Well site, this FREE group is open to everyone, offering support on a range of topics, with discussions facilitated by Emma, a parent carer with 25 years of experience!

You can even come to us on the bus! Stagecoach service 317 between Okehampton and Bideford can be asked to stop right on our doorstep 🚌

Don't forget to book your slot for tomorrow's Home Ed Social Group sessions! ☔️

We have two groups running TOMORROW:
👧👦 10am - 12pm for ages 4 to 10 (Parent to stay with attending child)
👱‍♀️🧑‍🦰 1pm - 3pm for ages 11 to 16 (Parent welcome to stay in the café or leave site with notice given)

Both groups are fully accessible and inclusive, no matter the needs of the individuals attending, we ensure these are met to high standards thanks to our staff's extensive training and experience with SEN and Learning Disabilities. Our group runs weekly to offer social fun for Home Educated young people!

Look how Harmione has grown! 🐑

You might remember Harmione, our sheep Persephone's lamb, who was born during our autumn lambing season in October 2025. Just three and a half months later, look at how big Harmione now is! In the photo, she is hanging with her Mum in our animal barn, keeping warm during the storms 🌧☔
