Well done to another private counselling practice for doing what they can to help those left without support ❤️

Following the sudden end of MHA and the devastating impact this had on clients (not to mention their staff) I am pleased to say that a local Banchory business person has offered me space at no charge so that I can continue to see the clients I was working with - I am very grateful, and will not be charging these clients for my service.

I will continue to look at options going forward to see how I can offer no (or low) cost appointments in the future.

To say I was shocked and saddened to hear that Mental Health Aberdeen was closing would be an understatement.

The effect of this on myself, colleagues and most importantly our clients will take some time to process.

For now I feel pretty helpless and unsure about what’s next. As an individual counsellor I can’t do much but I would like to extend the offer to those clients who were in sessions with me currently at ACIS the option to see me privately and finish their sessions free of charge. I can’t contact them directly so please feel free to share.

I hope that we can find some further reaching solutions to the huge void that has been left in mental health support and am open to being part of any ideas others may have.
