Following an extensive literature review, the International Society of Sports Nutrition (ISSN) has developed an official position on nutritional and weight cut strategies for combat sports. The type of combat sport, length of the fight camp, and time between weigh-in and competition are factors influencing nutritional and weight cut strategies.

The above slides contain a summary of some key aspects of weight cut from the literature review.

Phases of combat sports are generally separated into three distinct phases: “Off camp” or general preparation, “fight camp” and “fight week”/post weigh-in.

Aberdeen Combat centre will hold an
MMA interclub this Saturday (31st May).

This will be open to both adults and kids. The interclub will
start at 12 pm for adults and 11am for kids

Interclubs are a perfect way for new and novice fighters to
gain invaluable experience in a relaxed and friendly
atmosphere. They are also great for experienced/active
fighters to sharpen up skills.

With safety being of the utmost importance, it ensures that all entrants get the best possible experience, with the aim of
helping develop their skill set in a 'live' situation.

All bouts will be closed observed and controlled on
aggression, no dangerous techniques will be allowed.

This is a controlled contract interclub based on skill, not power.

Boxing and K1 bouts are also available for those interested.

Each match will be videoed available on request

If you would like to participate, please message with your name, gym, age, experience, and walk around weight.

Just completed Precision Nutrition Advanced Certificate in Nutrition Coaching for Athletes. This certificate program provides specialized training in sports nutrition, including how to create personalized programs, solve common issues, and coach athletes effectively. 

The program includes three core courses: "How to Coach an Athlete," "How to Create Personalized Nutrition Programs for Athletes," and "How to Solve Common Nutrition Problems for Athletes". 

The courses equip coaches with the tools, techniques, and coaching skills to create customized nutrition plans for athletes, address challenges, and improve communication and client relationships. The program emphasizes understanding the individual needs and unique factors that impact athletes, including their lifestyle, cultural influences, and stress levels, to create tailored nutrition strategies. 

Also Practical applications:The training includes real-world case studies, practical coaching techniques, and resources to help coaches apply their knowledge and build stronger coaching relationships with their clients.
