🥗⚡ The New US Food Pyramid — Finally Catching Up to Physiology ⚡🥗
REAL FOOD is back at the center of health in the US & highly processed foods are called out.
The UK diet is certainly better but processed foods are still consumed in large quantities!
As an acupuncturist and holistic healthcare provider — this update to the food pyramid in the US is interesting to see & perhaps will give us a little shake up too in regard to healthier eating.
Processed diets have been the scourge of modern living, which I’ve witnessed for years, working in the NHS & now in my own clinic.
As an energy worker that incorporates electro acupuncture into many of my treatments, I know what a typical processed diet leads to:
👉 poor Gu-Qi (foods)
👉 unstable blood sugar
👉 chronic inflammation
👉 endocrine and metabolic stress
👉 low voltage terrain
What we eat directly affects cellular voltage, mitochondrial function, digestion, and the nervous system. When nutrition is built on refined grains and processed foods, the terrain simply cannot hold charge ⚡️
“What’s encouraging about the new US food pyramid is that it finally starts to resemble what many acupuncturists see clinically works:” (Steiner-EAI)
• prioritizing protein and healthy fats for voltage and metabolic stability
• emphasizing vegetables and whole foods for minerals and electron donation
• reducing reliance on ultra-processed foods that drain terrain
• supporting better Earth system (St/SI/SP) function and Gu-Qi production
From an Electro - Acu perspective, this shift supports:
⚡ higher baseline voltage
⚡ more nutrition = healthy cell regeneration
⚡ improved endocrine signaling
⚡ reduced inflammation and immune reactivity
Is their new guide perfect? No.
But it’s a great start & refreshing to see public nutrition guidance finally moving closer to physiology instead of ideology.
I also feel their new guide is aligned more with the Paleo diet (a way of eating I advocate).
The Paleo diet and lifestyle takes cues & inspiration from our ancestors and the way we used to eat and live.
It’s not about re-enacting the caveman era; nobody runs around in loincloths and sets fires to cook their food (only occasionally).
Paleo is about learning from ancestors but it’s mostly fuelled by modern science and some common sense.
This diet focuses on unprocessed whole foods: healthy fats including saturated fat, grass-fed, free-range meat and eggs, lots of fish and seafood, even more vegetables, some fruit, berries, nuts, seeds and natural sweeteners.
It excludes grains, legumes, processed sugar and most dairy.
Some people include healthy dairy foods like kefir, full-fat natural yoghurt, aged cheese and butter. That, of course, really depends on your sensitivities.
I love this way of eating because it also focuses on local, organic produce and good farming practices, a win win all round 🙏
