Do you care for an adult or child with learning disabilities? Would you like to join a new activity session built around their needs?

Locked doors, calm environment, sensory tent, Makaton session, music, developmental toys and the chance to relax with other parents and carers in a safe space.

⭐️Judith Dobson is joining us from Contact Cymru - come and have a chat about support, benefits, DLA & PIP.

⭐️Catrin from Music Therapy North Wales will be with us for the last time until summer. 🎶🥁🎤

⭐️We know how difficult it can be to get a good photograph of our children with learning disabilities.
📸 We are taking bookings to have your child's photograph taken by local photographer, Anthony Thomas O'Brien.

Well, that’s a wrap-up for January 2026. It was a month to remember, for sure. I don’t think I had such a productive month in quite a few years. Usually, it rolls slowly into February, and I have time to pause and prepare for the new year ahead, but not this time.
We started a new 10-week project with the Conwy Community Wellbeing Team, delivering music therapy sessions in Dementia Care Homes across Conwy. To experience the impact of music on residents, care staff and family members, it’s truly a unique opportunity. We have regular family members dropping in during the sessions, and getting to know them and their loved ones is a privilege.
It is also a new term at Ysgol Y Gogarth, and we have new pupils attending our music therapy sessions until Easter.
For the first time, we were part of the amazing takepART project in Venue Cymru. We would be delighted to be part of it again.
And lastly, only yesterday we were invited to Bangor to meet the fantastic team of Dal Dwylo CIC, who held a session for children and adults with learning disabilities and complex communication needs. It was a privilege to meet everyone there, and we will be back for another session on the last Saturday of February (28/2/26).

Who knows what February will bring?

There are two slots available:
11 am - 6 to 11 years old (1 place)
12 pm - 12 to 17 years old (2 places)

Location: Festival Church, Old Colwyn

The last day of booking is Friday, 19 December.

Finally, at 00.30 am, I finished a new design for a newsletter and figured out how to print booklets (not upside down or mirror image), ready to be distributed tomorrow at a Christmas concert with Ysgol Y Gogarth

I’ve had a pretty amazing day at work today. Had a massive hug from a little one when she happily skipped into the music room, started Christmas songs (who cares it’s still November?) and guessed a song from 3 notes (my client was impressed 💥)!
