If you sit at a desk, you are going to want to read this 👀
Your setup for working at a desk is so important. Correct posture helps your health.
When poor posture is present, this can cause certain structures to take more pressure, becoming inflamed and leading to deterioration.
Your posture is heavily influenced by muscle imbalance, and this imbalance comes from daily activities, such as your work environment.
It may feel natural and comfortable to slump whilst at work, right? The reason is that you’re trapped by this muscle imbalance. Tight muscles pull you into these undesirable positions, weak muscles are unable to hold you in desirable positions.
So how do we solve this?
Balance is key. If you release tension in these tighter muscles and build strength in your weaker muscles, you will become more balanced and more comfortable in a healthy posture.
Here are some things you can do to make sure your posture is balanced:
Eyes in line with the top of the monitor.
➡️ Relaxed shoulders
➡️ Back support
➡️ Arm support
➡️ Horizontal thighs
➡️ Feet flat
➡️ 90 degrees at elbow and knee.
➡️ Avoid having to reach for a mouse/ keyboard
