Some of you might remember Maggie who worked on placement on Tollgate road and who also went on to do fundraising for vision homes

Unfortunately her second guide dog Bob,who is now retired and being looked after by friends, has just been diagnosed with cancer and needs expensive treatment.

As Bob is not sponsored by guide dogs anymore, they are looking for funds to help with the vets bill. If you can, please help

Back in October we had our Autumn Celebration and Staff Recognition Awards which was Halloween themed. Congratulations to all our brilliant staff who were nominated by their colleagues and won an award; Holly Walters; Kirsty Akinci; Oladunni Olatunde; Caroline Keuglar; Lucy Dawe; Josie Pitt; Mel Townsend; Lucy Vernalls; Damien Upton; Robert Green; Maraj Butterfield; Azra Bi; Louise Ward; Julie Hamer; Caroline Kenny; Agata Siebert.

There was a spooktacular array of fancy dress costumes and it was a hard won competition, but well done to Lucy Dawe and Craig Allen who scooped the prize for best fancy dress.

Did you know its National Safeguarding week? Its'a a national campaign run by the Anne Craft Trust charity at Nottingham University. The purpose of the week is to raise awareness of Safeguarding issues, and for all of us to reflect on our role in keeping the people that we support safe and well. As we all know, safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility; and it’s important that all of our teams know how to identify safeguarding concerns and are confident in how to take action to keep people safe. The theme this year is safeguarding yourself and others.

MA from our Toll Gate Service had a morning out in Bewdley, enjoyed a coffee and some fish and chips, and back at the service did a spot of cooking.

Congratulations to Maraj Butterfield and the Team at our Ouzel Drive, Bradford service who have won a Partnership Award from Bradford College. This is in recognition of us taking on student placement workers who are studying Health and Social Care in Bradford. The students have provided some lovely positive feedback, about the support they have received whilst on placement and how much they have learned. Fantastic stuff!
