Birth trauma can occur for a wide variety of reasons and can lead to postnatal PTSD, impacting on relationships with family, partners and ultimately baby. Mothers and Fathers can suffer enormous negative mental health as a consequence, so don't be afraid or ashamed to get help or seek support. The mental health charity MIND has a very informative page dedicated to postnatal PTSD. Please follow the link below.

You may develop PTSD if you experience trauma during labour or childbirth. Find out more about this type of anxiety disorder including causes and treatments.

Hello everyone.

I have set up this new group after experiencing a very traumatic birth some 17 years ago and finding a lack of specific support, especially peer to peer support. This page will hopefully blossom into a safe place to share stories and support for those who have had a negative birth experiences. It is open to Mothers, Father's and anyone who has been affected by such trauma, wether their little one survived or not.
Please feel free to suggest any features you would like to see. All I ask is that names and places are not disclosed. If you require further support with specific incidents we will be more than willing to assist in finding this for you.
Thank you for engaging.
