After 2 months of pain post-running and long periods on his feet, we’re finally turning a corner 🔑

• Restoring ankle & midfoot mobility
• Building foot intrinsic strength
• Increasing calf capacity
• Reducing load sensitivity

• Foot activation + intrinsic strengthening

Rehab session with Russell for chronic low back pain 💪

Incredible determination from this man, huge progress over the last 9 months, despite occasional flare-ups.

Key developments:
1. Fear avoidance / kinesiophobia – Reduced significantly, allowing more natural movement and better load tolerance
2. Posterior chain strength & stability – Consistent work on hinge, bridge & extension patterns has improved both capacity and confidence
3. Pain science education – Understanding pain has been a game changer, shifting from reactive to proactive rehab
4. Therapy adjuncts – Short-term relief (manual therapy, stretching, TENS) used to support movement and allow effective loading—not replace it

📊 MRI update: A new MRI in 2026 shows improvement in disc pathology compared to 2023, with the herniation now reduced and presenting as a disc bulge.

⚠️ Imaging doesn’t always correlate with pain—real progress has come from improving strength, movement, and confidence under load.

Still areas to develop, but we’re moving in the right direction 🔥

Back on track !! 💪

HHD showed us some key areas we need to start addressing in .07 ACL rehab.

At 15 weeks in, we’re in a really good place:
• Completing all time / objective markers for safe progress for the next stage in ACL rehab
• Restored full passive knee range of motion (flexion & extension)
• Quad strength trending in the right direction
• Minimal swelling and pain
• Normal gait pattern restored

Due to healing timelines, we could only begin loading the hamstrings from 12 weeks post-op — making this a huge focus as we move into the next phase.

Next step ➡️ moving into the mid-phase of rehab.

This is where it really matters hitting every target and leaving no stone unturned, so when we reach the return-to-running phase, we minimise roadblocks and build strong coping strategies throughout 🔑

Great to catch up after my time away in Australia. Big thanks to this guy for helping me get in shape for HYROX back in January and dropping some weight before my travels 👊

Today’s session focused on reducing tension through the upper traps and rhomboids — a result of him pushing training load as he builds towards his second Ironman.

Keeping things moving, staying on top of recovery, and making sure the body can handle the work being put in 🔧

Intense session this week with ACL rehab & S&C client 💪

A very positive week getting things back on track !! Training load is up, diet is dialled in, and we’re increasing the intensity within rehab.

We’ve seen some great progress on the HHD, particularly with improvements in limb asymmetry and time to peak which are key markers as we move forward.

This session focused on the early reintroduction of:
• Running mechanics
• Deceleration
• Basic change of direction

We integrated movements including:
• Hip locks
• A-skips
• Pogos
• Broad jumps
• Lateral shuffle into linear run
• Burpee board jumps

Finishing with proprioception work to reinforce stability and control through the knee.

Smart progressions, building confidence, and laying the foundations for return to performance 🔑

Incredible space allowing us the facilities to push athletes to the limit !!

It’s been an incredible two weeks getting back to doing what I love at TJMSportRehab, based

Over the last two weeks alone, I’ve completed 72 sessions working with new patients and catching up with clients taking full advantage of the TJMSportRehab direct debit rehab service.
