TJMSportRehab is closed for the month of Feb. I am going seeing my family over in Australia (reason for the awful stash).

Just wanted to say a quick thanks for all the continued support since joining the team ✨.

Big improvements and changes are to be made in March!! I will be releasing available slots on Monday 16th Feb for when I return in March.

Client progress 📈07 making serious moves as he enters the mid-stage of ACL rehab ‼️

By passing objective criteria, he’s progressed into the late post-op phase — meaning rehab is driven by individual readiness, not just time-based milestones.

He’s now joined our bespoke Rehab & PT programme, where we don’t treat the injury in isolation, but focus on the entire kinetic system and the athlete as a whole.

While lower-limb loading is still limited, we’re still pushing performance by targeting:
• Upper body strength
• Core stability
• Cardiovascular fitness & conditioning
• Body composition and weight management

This ensures fitness continues to improve while the knee progresses safely.

Recovery session with 🏃‍♂️

Been working with Mike since September, with a big focus on lower-body recovery alongside his marathon training and prep.

The priority is identifying and addressing niggles early before they develop into injuries that interrupt training. Today’s focus was hip flexor and adductor tightness and weakness — common signs of tissue overload when structures are either overworking or not meeting the demands of the sport.

Session emphasis was reducing tension in these areas, followed by a personalised rehab programme to strengthen the relevant links in the kinetic chain and support ongoing performance.

George has been struggling with chronic Achilles tendinopathy for a long time while running and playing rugby. Using a holistic approach combining progressive rehabilitation and targeted sports therapy techniques, we’ve been able to significantly reduce his pain within just 2 weeks and return him to plyometric movements pain-free.

He’s now been given a structured plan to continue progressing away from sessions, with the goal of returning to pain-free running and being fully prepared ahead of the new rugby season in March.

Big progress already — excited to keep building 🚀

Lower body recovery session with 🏃👟

Preparing for a huge challenge in Costa Rica, running over 200km in 7 days.

Matt’s training volume has significantly increased over the past few months.

To keep him healthy, consistent, and performing at his best, recovery is a non-negotiable. We prioritise monthly lower-body sports therapy sessions, with a strong focus on the hip flexors, quads, and posterior chain.

This approach is highly beneficial for long-distance runners, helping reduce excessive tension in areas that take on greater load due to individual biomechanics and gait patterns.

Key benefits of sports massage:
• Reduced muscle tone and tension
• Improved recovery between training sessions
• Reduced metabolic by-product build-up
• Pain-gait theory application to decrease perceived discomfort
• Deep trigger point release through full ranges of motion
• Improved joint range of motion — shortened or overactive muscles can restrict movement, and techniques such as PNF stretching and soft tissue release are highly effective in restoring mobility

Recovery isn’t optional—it’s part of the performance plan. 💪
