“Let’s talk about pessaries.”

Pessaries are a safe, non-surgical option for managing pelvic organ prolapse and, in some cases, stress urinary incontinence.
They provide internal support, can ease feelings of heaviness or pressure, and can help you stay active and comfortable day-to-day.

During a fitting appointment, we assess your prolapse type, pelvic floor function, vaginal tissue health, and find the most suitable pessary type and size for your body.

A well-fitted pessary should feel comfortable, supportive, and help reduce your symptoms — sometimes immediately.

If you’re experiencing prolapse symptoms or are curious about whether a pessary might help, you’re welcome to reach out for more information.

Endometriosis & Women’s Health Physiotherapy

Endometriosis affects 1 in 10 women — yet so many continue to feel unheard, misunderstood or unsure where to turn.

Endometriosis is a complex inflammatory condition that often leads to chronic pelvic pain, muscle guarding, bladder/bowel symptoms and reduced quality of life.

Women’s Health Physiotherapists play a key role in multidisciplinary care by supporting:
🔸 Pelvic floor assessment & rehabilitation
🔸 Manual therapy for abdominal and pelvic tension
🔸 Pain management strategies
🔸 Breathing and relaxation techniques
🔸 Graded movement and exercise

Early intervention can significantly improve symptom control and functional outcomes.
Let’s continue raising awareness and improving access to specialist pelvic health support.

Scar treatment is important for far more than just cosmetic reasons. Whether the scar is from surgery, injury, pregnancy or a sporting incident, proper treatment can make a huge difference in how your body feels and functions long-term. Here’s why:

1. Scars can restrict movement

Scar tissue isn’t as flexible as normal skin. If it forms around joints, muscles or fascia, it can cause:
• Tightness
• Reduced range of movement
• Discomfort during everyday activities or exercise

This is especially relevant after C-sections, perineal tears, abdominal surgery or sporting injuries.

2. It can lead to pain and sensitivity

Poorly healed scars often become:
• Tender
• Numb or overly sensitive
• Painful when stretched

This can contribute to pelvic pain postpartum, back pain, or persistent discomfort around surgical sites.

3. Scars can affect muscle activation

Deep scars (e.g., C-sections) can disrupt the normal function of:
• Core muscles
• Pelvic floor
• Glutes
This can affect posture, lifting, running and day-to-day strength.

4. Early treatment improves healing

Working on a scar early (when safe to do so) can help:
• Improve mobility of the tissue
• Reduce thickness and adhesions
• Speed up recovery
• Improve cosmetic appearance

5. It helps prevent long-term issues

Untreated scar tissue can contribute to problems years later, such as:
• Ongoing pain
• Poor core strength
• Pelvic floor dysfunction
• Recurrent injuries

6. Boosts confidence and body comfort

Feeling comfortable in your skin has a big emotional impact. Soft, mobile, less-visible scars often help people feel better in their bodies—especially after birth or major surgery.
We are so grateful we have tools from , which we combine with acupuncture, hands on manual techniques and tailor made exercises to make the ultimate treatment for YOU! This is the best treatment possible for your scars - get in touch today if you want to learn more

🌙 Why Sleep Hygiene Matters in Chronic Pelvic Pain 🌙

Poor sleep doesn’t just make you tired — it can actually amplify pain. 💤
When we don’t get good-quality rest, our nervous system becomes more sensitive, stress hormones increase, and our body struggles to heal and regulate pain effectively.

For those living with chronic pelvic pain, improving sleep hygiene can help calm the nervous system, reduce inflammation, and support emotional well-being.
