We’ve got some bittersweet news to share…

Our brilliant irrigation specialist Harriet will be leaving us to start an exciting new chapter as an estate agent 🏡✨

Harriet has been a huge part of what we do here at Greenfield Eyecare, and we know many of you will have seen her for ear wax removal. She’s looked after our patients with such care, professionalism and warmth - and she’ll be very much missed by both us and our customers.

We wish her all the very best in her new role (and if you’re buying or selling locally… you know who to call! 😉)

The good news is that ear wax removal services are continuing as normal.

Claire has now completed her irrigation training, so we’ll still be offering both microsuction and irrigation, just as before.

Ear wax is completely normal and actually healthy, but sometimes it can build up and start causing problems.

Here are 3 signs it could be affecting your hearing:

1️⃣ Sounds feel muffled
If voices seem dull or you’re turning the TV up more than usual, wax could be blocking sound from reaching the eardrum properly.

Today we’re celebrating all the amazing mums, grandmas, step-mums and mother figures in our community.

The ones who somehow juggle everything…school runs, work, family life, and still manage to look after everyone else before themselves.

Clearer vision doesn’t always mean stronger lenses.

When someone is short-sighted (myopic), it’s easy to assume the solution is simply stronger glasses. But myopia isn’t just about needing more power, it’s about how the eye is changing over time.

In many cases, myopia progresses because the eye continues to grow. This is especially true in children and teenagers. Stronger glasses can help vision feel clearer, but they don’t address what’s driving those changes in the first place.

That’s why managing myopia is about more than just updating a prescription. It’s about understanding how someone uses their eyes day to day, how their vision is changing, and whether there are ways to slow progression rather than simply chasing it.

Clear vision matters but so does long-term eye health and that starts with the right conversation.
