Inspiring morning at Mahdlo Youth Zone with Burnham
Today, Dr Lucy France and I had the privilege of attending a fantastic event at Mahdlo Youth Zone Oldham, where Burnham spoke passionately about the MBacc initiative and how local businesses can play a vital role in helping young people transition into meaningful employment.
We were both genuinely inspired by the energy, ambition, and collaboration in the room and left feeling even more determined to explore how Oldham Family Practice can continue to support this important movement across our region.
This is not new territory for us, we’ve already seen first-hand the impact that opportunity and mentorship can have, yet we can do more. We were proud to host a young person on a 20-week placement through MBacc, who has since become a valued member of our team, continuing their studies and building a career in healthcare.
Investing in young people isn’t just good for the community, it strengthens our workforce, our services, and our shared future.
We do thank staff members from Mahdlo for the very kind invitation. We’re excited to see how Oldham Family Practice can further contribute to the MBacc journey and the brilliant work being done to nurture local talent. 💙
