Sometimes you come to Bodytalk with one concern in mind but get something else. A Bodytalk session works with the priority of the body so you get what you need, rather than what you think you need.

"I brought my daughter to see Arlene as she was having a few issues developing friendships and finding her feet in a new school.
My daughter isn’t very talkative when it comes to strangers or discussing problems/issues she is having and she tends to play things down. However, Arlene put her at ease and she quickly opened up about some of the things that were bothering her.
At the appointment, my daughter also opened up about issues she had around food, not something I had originally taken her to Arlene to address. But she openly talked about it and it became apparent it was impacting on more than her home life.
Following her session with Arlene, Arlene was able to identify the root of the problem and take us back to what was likely the trigger and how we had got to the point we were at that day.
This brought so much clarity to our family and we were able to then work on overcoming the issues she was having and finding a resolution and way forward to address the issues she was facing.
My daughter had always said Arlene was such an easy person to talk to, she felt relaxed in her company and felt the Body Talk session helped her understand why she was having problems settling in school and how food was a bigger issue for her than anyone ever realised.
Following the session we were able to move forward and work on the issues to make home and school life easier where food was involved and over time have now moved past all her food issues.
She no longer has food avoidance, nor does she avoid events or outings where food is involved, something we thought might never happen.
We have no doubt Arlene’s input has built her confidence, reduced her anxieties around food and no longer lets food dictate her day to day life."

I am really honoured to share the following testimonial. The feedback received from this mum and her teenage daughter demonstrates the profound impact that Bodytalk can have on multiple aspects of life. Sometimes we do not experience physical changes but to have the weight of the world lifted off our shoulders and clarity of thought is often all we need.

"I brought my teenage daughter to see Arlene when she was being bullied at school.
She went there with very low self esteem, she was questioning what was wrong with her or what was she doing wrong and why were girls who were her friends treating her the way they were. She also was struggling with her sleep and was becoming increasingly anxious about attending school.
At the beginning of the appointment Arlene carried out a very detailed consultation.
She got her to open up and address what emotions she was feeling, how she viewed herself and what we could achieve going forward.
Following the body talk session my daughter explained how she felt ‘lighter’. She left, after just one appointment, with a smile on her face and much less fear about going to school.
Furthermore, she feels Arlene helped her address the bullying issues in her school environment and my daughter felt stronger when speaking to staff and teachers, being more open about how she was feeling and the effects the bullying was having on her.
My daughter made the decision herself to move school. This was a massive decision for her due to the stage she was at in her education but as her parents we let her take the lead because it was obvious her time with Arlene had given her strength and clarity to look to the future and not get caught up in the day to day bullying issues she was facing.
This was undoubtedly the best decision for her as she has thrived in her new school and achieved exceptional grades at GCSE level.
As parents we feel we owe it to Arlene that we now have a girl who is happy, chatty and much more confident and struggles a lot lot less with anxiety and low self esteem.
Body Talk definitely made quite the impact on our daughter and without Arlene’s input, our daughter and her mental health could be in a very different place today."

"You must have read my mind. I meant to text you this morning. Two weeks since our appointment and I feel every day that I am slowly and surely gaining my baby back. For the first time in her life she is now sleeping before 11pm and although not happy to attend school is going without being physically sick, tears and without using her rescue remedy spray every 5 minutes. In the coming months I shall be attending a number of Health and Wellbeing events, including this one hosted by Loch Mhic Ruairí Naomh Treasa GAA. I would love to share feedback from recent clients to give people an idea of the potential benefits of Bodytalk. If you would like to leave a review on my page or send a testimonial on WhatsApp to share anonymously I would greatly appreciate it.

In conjunction with the WHSCT, our Healthy Clubs team encourage any new mothers or mothers to be to join buggy walk tomorrow followed by some infant massage etc.

This is a great opportunity to meet new mothers.

"Autumn shows how beautiful it is to let things go" - Unknown

Bodytalk can assist with letting go of that which no longer serves us and release unprocessed emotions, trauma and limiting self beliefs. The potential benefits of Bodytalk can be experienced at multiple levels. It is suitable for adults and children of all ages.

My personal experience as a client, and a practioner, have included pain relief in acute and chronic conditions, improved movement, healing following surgery, improved mood and emotion regulation, improved sleep, increased confidence, reduced anxiety, relief of digestive conditions including chronic diarrhoea and constipation, lymphatic drainage and clarity of thought. Sometimes the impact can be profound and other times much more subtle but sometimes feeling like the weight of the world has been lifted of us is exactly what we need.
