✨ Trauma isn’t just what happened to you — it’s what happened inside you.

Most people think trauma only comes from “big” events: abuse, war, accidents, loss.
But trauma can also be quiet. Subtle.
It can be the absence of what you needed most — safety, attunement, emotional presence.

You can grow up in a “good” home and still carry trauma.
Why? Because trauma is less about the event itself and more about what your nervous system had to do to survive it.

Two people can live through the same moment, but their inner worlds may be shaped in completely different ways.

Trauma isn’t a life sentence.

You may have seen Paul mc Kenna the hypnotist doing a technique where he is crossing his arms over his chest and rubbing his arms. This psycho sensory technique is called havening. Hi, I’m Peter Loughrey and I am an advanced clinical hypnotherapist and a counsellor with the National Counselling Society. I qualified as a clinical hypnotherapist in 2003 and then went on to study for my advanced diploma in clinical hypnotherapy.
