I discovered the benefits of Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine through my own journey living with chronic pain. I found it so beneficial that I trained for 3 years to become an acupuncturist myself! I am very excited about being in a place where I can bring hope, health and healing to people in a natural way by promoting the body's own natural self healing process.

😭 From magic to madness in a split second!

I had such a brill afternoon with Anna and Theo in the snow yesterday (poor Lily has a cold/flu thing at the mo 🤒)… to turning on the taps in the cabin to water my plants and BOOM!!

Pipes completely burst, water gushing out at what felt like 100miles an hour, from under my sink where I keep all my needles and a good bit of my stock.

Poor kiddos experienced 10mins of pure frantic panic while I searched for the stop c**k behind all my stock (lesson learnt)… meanwhile the whole cabin floor getting saturated while we tried to cover the burst pipe (poor Anna’s thumb is still sore and swollen 😳), clear as much stock out as we could and lift all the electrics off the ground.

In the midst of panic we did what we had to do, I was able to twist, bend, lift all in the freezing cold water… but then when my husband sped home and my brother rushed round in his pickup after picking up an industrial dehumidifier…. And all I could do was stand and observe all the damage and slowly take in all that happened… yip you guessed it…. My back went into a nasty deep spasm.

The shock and the drama of all that has just happened went straight to my most vulnerable place.

Last night lying in bed, needled, ear seeded, hot water bottled up to the max with Guasha in hand… I was so aware of how our brains so quickly recognise ‘danger’ and send that signal straight to our bodies to tell us to ‘STOP!!’ All is not well, drawing attention to the immediate need for retreat and safety in what is seen as an ‘unsafe’ situation.

I am fully aware my life wasn’t in danger, but my brain was so acutely switched on to the stress of it all, it automatically informed my body to respond.

Can you see ways your mind/body does this?
I see it all the time with my clients… in many forms; cold sores, IBS, joint pain, migraines, muscle spasms, psoriasis, insomnia, to name a few!

So what can we do?

We need to let our brain know we’re actually ok.

We need to re-wire our neuro-plasticity (the way our brain automatically responds to stress).

And this CAN be done…

⬇️ Read in the comments ways which actually work to change the way our brains fire…

Just a little word of comfort for those of us who may need it.

There’s a big emphasis on the New Year, the Powerful Year of the Horse…

We are transient, continually in motion and cyclical beings with glorious potential for change, development and progress when we feel lead and more importantly when it is natural and right for us to do so. That is, in my opinion, when lasting change happens. When there is truth, alignment, purpose and the inner strength to do so.

The year of the horse, which starts around end Jan/mid Feb (17th Feb if you want to be exact) can provide powerful momentum for boldness and the realisation of dreams and plans that the previous year of the snake has perhaps been shedding and releasing in preparation.

It’s a beautiful way to look at the years as they roll by and this year of the horse will serve many of us well.

Please don’t forget, the whole root of Chinese medicine is all about beautiful balance and harmony.

Let’s not pressurise ourselves into other peoples moulds. Let’s spend time sitting with ourselves, finding out what we need and what feels better for us, in our own time. All with the knowing that this powerful year of the horse is backing us up all the way while the year of the snake is still here to encourage movement and releasing of what we feel doesn’t serve us and what we’d feel better not to bring alongside us going forward ✨

Sending love, light and peace for the year ahead, Sarah x

As 2025 draws to a close I wanted to say a heartfelt thank you 🙏

To my treasured clients, to all our wonderful Chill Fridays crew, to all the many ears I’ve needled and seeded, to those of you who support me by buying from my wee website shop (if only you could see the happy dances) for everyone who recommends me and speaks kindly of my work, for every message, comment, like and share.

It’s definitely been a challenging year in lots of ways for me and I’m going into 2026 feeling vulnerable and a bit shaky… but also with a heart full of gratitude, awe and hope. And as always, on full look out for all the sparkly bits coming my way ✨

My heart is full of gratitude and amazement for the deeper work I’ve done into Classical Chinese Medicine and I am so excited about finding ways of rolling this out in real, accessible and impactful ways in 2026.

A huge thank you to my incredible friends and family who have stood by me, supported me and helped me baby step through some incredibly challenging times.

I wish each and every single one of us a year filled with peace of mind, kindness (to ourselves especially), strength and joy.. and holding the belief that hope, health and healing is available in abundance for us all ✨

Sending you all so much love, Sarah x

It’s been almost 3 months since I’ve been able to be out on my walk after a really horrible flare up 🥺

I haven’t felt this fragile in years

It’s been hard
It’s been scary
It’s been sad

It’s also been the 24 year anniversary of the accident and Siobhan’s death at the end of November.

It felt like a really tough one this year as that’s half my life.. half of my life changed forever, slowed down and dealing with pain and vulnerability.

But also, 24 years extra.
24 years to experience this beautiful world. 24 years of joy, creation, excitement, love, learning and chances.

I may be slower today (for now)
I may not have been able to walk the full walk (for now)
But my heart is full of gratitude 🙏

✨ So I continue this journey, praying for more hope, health and healing, beyond grateful for all I’ve learnt and the healing I’ve experienced through Chinese Medicine and enjoying all the beautiful sparkly bits along the way ✨

🎃 Roasting pumpkin seeds… easy peasy, just don’t leave them in the oven for too long (!) 🤭

👉 forgot to mention to dry them REALLY well after soaking them in salty water, the drier the crispier they are!

🫒 Also add olive oil to your chosen spices before popping in the oven. My fav mix: smoked paprika, cayenne & garlic 😋

☯️ You know me by now… always like to add the Chinese Medicine side to things ~ they have some fab benefits;

🤢 Expels parasites: Pumpkin seeds are classified as a herb that expels parasites, often prescribed for conditions involving intestinal worms like roundworms and tapeworms.

🐡 Reduces swelling: They are considered effective for reducing swelling, particularly postpartum edema in the hands and feet ~ wish I’d have known that after having Theo!!

🍽️ Aids digestion: Pumpkin seeds strengthen the Spleen and Stomach, which supports the digestive system, making them beneficial for those with weak digestion, fatigue, or loose stools.

🕺 Supports prostate health: They are used to help with prostate problems and swelling.

💩 Moistens the intestines: They can help with dry stools and constipation by moistening the intestines.

🎃 Did you keep your seeds? Let me know if you’re going to try them and what you think!! ✨

“Hope is an optimistic state of mind that is based on an expectation of positive outcomes with respect to events and circumstances in one’s own life, or the world at large. As a verb, Merriam-Webster defines hope as “to expect with confidence” or “to cherish a desire with anticipation”.

It feels like the last 4 weeks for me I’ve been purely surviving on drops of hope.

I especially love what’s written above “with respect to events and circumstances in one’s own life”

My hope has ranged from “please God don’t let this pain destroy me this time” and “please God please let me not need my mum (🫶🏻) to get me on and off the toilet for one more day” to….

“Please God let me make it to Belfast to do my speaking gig so I can share my story and give ‘hope’ to someone else who needs to hear it” to “please God let me be able to sit long enough to see Theo perform in his school harvest” to….

“Please God let me be able to manage the 3 hour flight to Spain” to “Please God keep my back pain manageable with no massive flare-ups while I’m out in Spain”

After a really hard phone call with a doctor this morning (from my recent x-ray), for me right now, in this vulnerable moment, it’s very much “Please God strengthen my faith and my hope, keep me strong and build from this painful ‘hopeless’ feeling.

Living in hope certainly doesn’t mean that you have or expect a clear bright future laid out ahead of you.

It’s the acknowledgment that sometimes it’s living off the crumbs of hope.

But I do believe it’s also that when you feel you’ve been ‘kicked down’ again… that there’s even the ripple or resonance of that thran, determination that maybe you’re not even sure you have still left in you, but it will rise and God will help us to get to a place again to ‘expect with confidence’ and ‘cherish a desire with anticipation’.

“For surely there is a future, and your hope will not be cut off”.

📍Yintang is a powerful and widely used acupuncture point in Chinese Medicine. I add it to most of my treatments and you will often find me running around the house (and sometimes outside of the house having forgotten to remove it 🤪)

👀 It is located in the center of the forehead, between the medial ends of the eyebrows.

☺️ Stimulating Yintang, either through acupuncture or acupressure, is primarily known for calming the spirit and mind.

🙌 I use it regularly to treat a range of physical and emotional conditions, including:
💥 Anxiety and stress: Helps ease racing thoughts and promotes mental clarity.
💥Insomnia: Used to promote relaxation and help with difficulty sleeping.
💥 Headaches: Particularly effective for frontal headaches, sinus pressure and eyestrain.
💥 Dizziness and vertigo: Helps to alleviate feelings of lightheadedness.
💥 Nasal problems: Can relieve symptoms like nasal congestion, runny nose and sinus pain.
💥 Agitation: Helps to calm the mind and ease restlessness.

🙌 You can very easily use acupressure on Yintang to stimulate the point yourself:
➡️ Locate the point: Place your finger at the midpoint between your eyebrows.
➡️ Apply pressure: Apply firm but gentle pressure with your index or middle finger.
➡️ Breathe and massage: While applying pressure, take slow, deep breaths. You can either hold the pressure or massage the area in small, circular motions for a couple of minutes.

💖 In Chinese Medicine Yintang is associated with emotional stability and is considered an important point for addressing internal conflict by offering a new perspective.

💖 It has also been used in ancient traditions to signify wisdom and enlightenment.

✨ The point is referred to as the “Hall of Impression” due to its symbolic significance.

💖 To have had the opportunity to treat all these incredible ladies to this powerful ‘unicorn’ point (as I always jokingly refer to it) , was an absolute pleasure and a very special, fun filled, moment I will treasure 💞

😘 Special thanks to .co.uk for the creativity with the collage ~ legend!

🙏 As I’m getting ready to head off on my next adventure, co-facilitating a retreat in Spain…. This is what’s on my mind. In the midst of pain and fear… I needed to be reminded of these words:

💖 There’s someone wakening up in a hospital bed, wishing they were in your position…

✨ Do it scared

✨ Do it uncertain

✨ Do it alone

✨ Do it sad

✨ Do it when it’s hard

✨ Do it even when you’re not ready

💖 Do it for them 💖

💖 Do it for you 💖

I’ve been asked SO many times about coughs and respiratory issues this last couple weeks and I always advise the ginger foot-soaks and guasha’ing the chest area (check back on my previous posts) but here’s another fantastic, and very quick & easy release technique!

In Chinese Medicine, rubbing the thenar eminence (the fleshy part at the base of the thumb) and the lung meridian points on the hand can be used to support respiratory health.

The lung meridian runs along the thumb side of the hand, and specific points along this path, such as Yuji (Lung 10), benefit the lungs. You can see me finding it here and pointing it out in the video.

Rubbing this area (I’m using my body Guasha tool here with the longer handle) will help ease symptoms like chest tightness or difficulty breathing by stimulating energy flow in the lung meridian.

You can use absolutely use a Guasha but if you haven’t got one, even a clean jam-jar lid or spoon to bring the blood flow to the surface and down the channel will bring release! 🙌

⬇️ I’ve added 2 more pics of exactly where the thenar eminence is located and the lung channel pathway in the comments below as Facebook won’t allow me to put all together in one post 🧐
