This weekend brings us Imbolc, a turning point.

You can feel it, if you’re paying attention. The dark isn’t as heavy. The light is finding its way back 🕯️

In Celtic tradition, it is Brigid’s season, keeper of the hearth, the wells, and the sacred flame. A time to honour what is quietly growing and to tend the small fires within ourselves 🌾

Nothing’s rushing yet. The land is still resting, but underneath it all, things are awake.

We’re the same. The light shifts, and the body knows 🤲🏻
Something starts to soften after the long dark.

So I light a candle. I mind what needs minding and I leave the rest alone.

Imbolc reminds us that beginnings are gentle.
They ask for care, not force🌀

Light a candle.

The forest just sorts me out 🌲🦌

I’ll go in with my head full and my shoulders up around my ears, and within ten minutes everything eases off. I breathe differently without thinking about it. I stop rushing.

I don’t feel watched or hurried. I feel welcomed.
Like I belong there just as much as the moss and the birds and the muddy paths. Nothing there needs anything from me. I don’t have to be “on” or get anywhere or explain myself. I can just walk, notice things, get a bit muddy, and exist 🧚

I always leave feeling steadier than when I arrived. Like something has been put back where it belongs.
