🦆News Alert From British Menopause Society 🦆

Dydrogesterone 10 mg now available on the NHS HRT PPC

The British Menopause Society is pleased to note the UK availability of Dydrogesterone 10 mg as a standalone progesterone for cyclical HRT and its addition to the list of medicines covered by the HRT Prescription Prepayment Certificate (HRT PPC).

Dydrogesterone is the progesterone used in a range of combined HRT products. It offers a favourable endometrial safety profile and predictable, lighter bleeding patterns. For many years it has not been available in the UK as a standalone product, although it has been available in Ireland.

Kathy Abernethy, BMS Trustee and past Chair, said:
‘One of the major reasons given by women for discontinuing HRT is the return of bleeding often requiring further investigation. This will be a welcome addition to formularies as it gives clinicians another option to personalise HRT to enhance patient satisfaction.’

🚨 Menopause doesn’t have to be miserable – join the Revolution! 🚨

🦆The Menopause Monthly Meet-Up🦆 was a massive success – the room was filled with laughs, light-bulb moments and that lovely feeling of “I’m not on my own”. 🦆

The messages after were incredible – ladies telling me they left with “a spring in their step” and even hit the gym this morning playing This Is Me! 🎶💪

So… let’s do it all again! 🎉

🦆🦆🦆Oh my goodness, our very first Menopause Monthly Meet-Up was everything I hoped for – and more!

Yes, the nerves were there (of course they were 🙈) – but only because I wanted to make sure it was a night the ladies needed. My vision has always been to explain what’s happening to our bodies in simple, straight-talking terms, and then share tools to help us ride this hormonal rollercoaster without flying off the tracks.

And let’s be honest… what’s the point if we don’t have the laughs along the way? And boy, did we giggle! 🤣

To every gorgeous woman who came –

Thank you from the bottom of my heart for trusting me to walk alongside you on this menopausal journey. Your energy, your openness, your feedback – you’ve absolutely blown me away. ❤️

And don’t worry, this is just the beginning! I’ve already got plenty of ideas bubbling for the next meet-ups (brace yourselves 😉).

For anyone who couldn’t make it last night – the next one is on Tuesday 7th October. I’ll share booking details in the next few days, so keep an eye out.

🦆🦆What an absolute privilege it was to have my gorgeous niece by my side last night -the very first Menopause Monthly Meet-Up

Not only did she keep me right on the media side of things but she also cheered me on every step of the way.

To say I made history – and to have done it alongside Keke – fills me with so much pride. She even got a wee crash course in menopause education too 😉😉 but more than that, she gave me confidence when I needed it most.

Moments like this are what it’s all about – support, laughter, and making memories together. I’m one proud auntie 🦆
