Out with the old, in with the new...
It's time to sew the girl child's new pointe shoe(s) 🩰
If being a dance mum as taught me anything this year it's that:
Dancers are tenacious: they get back up and keep going even when they're tired and think they can't, they go again, and again, and again until they can.
Dancers are incredibly strong: they look so graceful but underneath the makeup, hair spray, smiles and glitter they're litter warriors who can carry seriously heavy props and team mates and just keep going.
Dancers are positive thinkers: they believe they can and they do! They're huge team players, even in solo comps they support each other, believe they can do something and if they don't their team mates and teachers tell them they can until they believe it themselves.
Dance changes brains: I've literally witnessed the way thinking and habits change through repetition, positive attitude and the knock on effect it has on all areas of life.
If nothing else, I've seen the importance of pushing yourself outside of your comfort zone.
Comfort zones are comfortable, for a reason, they're small and they're, well, comfortable.
But beyond that zone leads you to greater things, where you can achieve so much more, that you didn't think you could do. You can do the things you've dreamt of, become the version of yourself you want to be.
You just have to push yourself, even if you don't think you can.
So, for 2026, think like a dancer, be a bit more tenacious, step out of your comfort zone, be stronger than you think you can be, try again, D what you didn't think you could - you might suprise yourself 😉.
And if you need a little help achieving it, I am more than happy to help...
I'll be your biggest cheerleader, ask the girl child, I'm getting really good at it 🤩 (much to her embarrassment!)
