This week we will be looking at diets! So there is many different methods of dieting from fasting, ketosis and more. This week I will be explaining some methods and pointing the pros and cons around them. The main question is can you out train a bad diet! In simple the answer is no! The saying of eat less and move more is pretty good to an extent! The body is so complex and every body has its own way of burning calories! Some people could really benefit from eating high fats and low carbs more like a ketosis diet to another body working on carbs as a diet! I like to the think the body as a car, if you’re going to be moving around a lot put more fuel into the body (food) as if you’re more sedentary for a day then you do not need as much! The best way of knowing how much to eat is by doing a basic metabolic rate (BMR) test and finding out how much your body averagely burns a day! Eating too little calories can be dangerous and just as bad as eating too many! Not getting enough calories makes the body go into a starvation mode, where the body will store more fat due to the fear of not having enough fuel to function and does not know when they will get calories again! I will be going into more detail about different protocols of diets people use and the benefits and negative side too! 6 days until we can reopen so here is a little bit about me!
So I’m callum the trainer and sports therapist at on the Mend. I got into sports therapy at a young age as when I was playing football at a high level I had a bad injury and was mistreated for 14 months. I went to university after this to study soft tissues to get an understanding. After fully qualifying I become the sports physio at rugby, hockey and football clubs. I was offering rehabilitation which led me down the path of personal training. I have always trained myself for physical and mental reasons! I now only work at working in a private gym and clinic. If you’re suffering from any soft injuries book in and I’ll get you back on the mend! If you’re interested in training but don’t want the public gym or more interested in getting the workout done with a perfect form and being pushed message to get in!
