Day 1/2 of the PERIMENO Conference and I am SO happy!
That I’ve not been chatting 💩 to you all 😅
The proven key points from the Academics, Researchers, Doctors and Professors speaking today were these 🥁 🥁 🥁
🥩 🍗 🥦 🍊 We need to be eating nutrient dense foods. 80% of the time at least.
We don’t want to be restricting until we’re uncomfortably hungry, then bingeing crap or ‘treating’ ourselves to sugary snacks & drinks. They’re not treats for our bodies, they’re just sugar that likes to hang round our waists 😖
Food is vital nourishment for our bodies to work efficiently - as is sleep (sleep has been a personal mission this year & I’ve definitely benefitted)
💪🏽🏋🏽♀️🏃🏻♀️➡️🚶🏽♀️🧘♀️ Exercise 😃
✅ Resistance/Weight Training - maintaining full body lean muscle mass, brain cognition, physical independence, living well longer
✅ Running/ Walking Briskly - maintaining bone density, maintaining some lower body lean muscle, 💗 heart health, Vit D (outdoor running in daylight)
✅ Flexibility/Mobility Training - can be fantastic for core strength & stability and definitely a great part of a self-care regime. No evidence of physical benefit to muscle or bone health (don’t come at me my Yogi & Pilates friends, I’m just reporting back)
✅ Walking Leisurely - fantastic for wellbeing, social connection, Vit D, some heart health. No evidence to show benefit to muscle or bone health but a perfect entry level to becoming a little fitter than before👌

It was a day, and I was grateful for a run afterwards with our Walking & Running Fit Five Towns group!
